I wouldn't mind if I couldn't go through my own fault.
Supposed to be going to an Manchester tomorrow with my Autistic son to do a bit of plane spotting. He is extremely weather phobic so no chance of going.
Yes I know I should have booked the flexi room but I didn't as I thought we'd definitely be going. They're not budging when I've complained on twitter.
Have I no chance?
whos fault is it then
have you asked if they will change it to a different date0 -
I totally agree with what others have said about the thread title, the fact that the cheaper rate reflects the tighter T&C, etc. That said though, I can't tell if you've actually phoned the hotel in question and spoken to them, or just gone through the company site/Twitter. In my experience with other hotel companies, and as alluded to by JReacher1 in post #4, the best route would be to call the hotel direct and speak with them as they may well be more lenient. However, I can't blame them in any way if they're not. There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more...0

I would sit down with your son and watch some videos on Youtube of planes landing in windy conditions, and make it seem like it's fun and exciting. Talk about them crabbing in side winds. Then say I wonder if we'll see planes doing that tomorrow. See if you can put a positive spin on things......0

Would travel insurance cover this cancellation?0

No , I don't believe it would - it would be classed as a 'disinclination to travel' (basically, just changing your mind) and any policy would exclude that.0 -

Well if it's not your own fault and it's definetly not Premier Inn's fault then it must be your son's fault. So maybe you should stop his pocket money and complain to him if your so depserate to make a complaint and get your money back!.0 -
I got mine refunded when i rang them from my hospital bed. I had had a heart attack the day i was supposed to stay. They were really kind about it.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I quite like the twitter interaction. After being told that the OP was told they couldn't cancel the room the next tweet was
"Do you know I have a son with Autism who is phobic with the weather. I will be taking this further"
How are premier inn meant to know that!0 -

And that's also why they have different booking types
This is risk that could be entirely foreseen not an out of the blue medical emergency.
Trying emotional blackmail on social media is a bit low but don't think OP is alone in this tactic these days.0
