Premier Inn complaint

Anyone had any luck getting a saver room changed or refunded?
I wouldn't mind if I couldn't go through my own fault.
Supposed to be going to an Manchester tomorrow with my Autistic son to do a bit of plane spotting. He is extremely weather phobic so no chance of going.
Yes I know I should have booked the flexi room but I didn't as I thought we'd definitely be going. They're not budging when I've complained on twitter.
Have I no chance?

  • No. Saver rates bookings can't be cancelled/refunded.

You thought you'd definitely be going to Manchester in February when the trip is highly weather dependent? That seems a tad optimistic!

I got a saver room changed at premier inn over xmas in Manchester. Just phoned up the hotel, told them I was ill and they very kindly moved the reservation. Even better the new date was £50 cheaper and they refunded the difference!

Going forward I would suggest if you have personal reasons why you may have to cancel last minute then you're probably best off going for the flexible rate.

I recently booked a saver room. They make it 100% clear that they will not change the booking or refund.

That said there's no harm asking...

I think your thread title is unfair.

It makes it look like a complaint with Premier Inn but they have done nothing wrong.

The saver rate is cheaper for the very reason that it cannot be changed.

That being said it is worth writing to them explaining the circumstances and they may give you another date as a gesture of goodwill.
  • Yeah op why is your thread entitled Premier Inn Complaint instead of Premier Inn Question?
  • That is why they have a saver rate - if there is a risk that you will not be able to make it then saver rte is not the right purchase.

Complaining when you have nothing to complain about is not the best approach.

The best thing to try is the apologetic, softly softly request for a goodwill change of date and make sure you take a non saver room for that if offered having realized your mistake.
