My husband has a 125 motorbike which we have insured with bennets for 4 years. Last years quote came in at around £95, approximately same as the year before. He has 4 years no claims and they have just sent the renewal and he was given a £1.50 discount, thats one pound fifty in case you think your eyes are deceiving you. I also noticed that the value of of the bike was wrong. Said £1000 but only worth £250. I called them to point this out, she changed the details and the quote remained the same. I mentioned thr no claims and the fact it hasn't changed for 2 years. Nothing, so i tried the old "well in that case i will not be renewing" ploy and still nothing.
Does anybody know of any other insurance companies that are more reasonable?0 -
To be honest I would think that £95 is as low as it gets for a bike policy. I think you will be unlikely to get much lower off anyone. Then again I pay less than double that (£170) for an 1150cc motorcycle that goes way too fast...
I can recommend both Carole Nash and eBikeInsurance. The added advantage is that both of these include breakdown cover.
With Carole Nash you deal with humans who will always try to beat your existing quote. http://www.carolenash.com
With eBike Insurance you deal exclusively online and the price you get is the price you get, but if you do need to speak to someone they are UK based. http://www.ebikeinsurance.co.uk
EDIT: I should add that I spent a year with BMW insurance after leaving Carole Nash. I wish I hadn't. They were the most incompetent people I have ever had the mispleasure of dealing with. Guess who provides BMW's bike insurance? Yes, Bennets!
