    Morning

Eleventy billion loads X wm. Ds1's wm at uni is still broken. I know I should make him do it but space and time is of the essence at the moment.

Trying my trial cl today so the world seems different. They are varifocals. Not sure how I'm getting on.

    Ground floor dysoned

I'm waiting to go to my parents' home to fly there. Ds1 wants to join me but is taking an age to get ready.

    Back later

We have been to weigh in at SW and DH had decluttered 10.5 lb since his last visit in December (or was it November?) :D I am blaming him for the half pound I put on as a result of our meal out on Sunday and the cream cake that I ate in honour of one of the Old Wives's birthday yesterday evening :p

Then I sat at the hospital, waiting for a blood test. Had to give up after 25 minutes (and there still 20 people before me in the queue - at the start there were 40 - but the predicted waiting time was still being shown as "22 minutes") because I had to go to the GP surgery for my shoulder injection. Lovely retired doctor there :) I will have to go back for the blood test another day. Cost me £1.50 in parking

Back to work on my essay after lunch (I did an hour before we went out to SW). Only 500 words and the editing to go...

Hope your DH's knee heals quickly, Dizzy, and that you get some time for yourself.
Nice to see old friends back on the thread
Have you got your meds, LW?
Bossy, please get your boiler and gas fire checked asap

    GWS wished for Mr Dizzy.

Bossy that sounds scary - are you all ok?

Finally I have my extra meds. :T ECG done - after a fashion (full-blown panic attack on my part); audiology appt decluttered - my hearing has gotten worse; no surprise there. Thankfully she didn't make me go into the little soundproof "shoebox" for the test; I don't think I'd have survived it after yesterday!

I have a doggy "meet'n'greet" on Friday, to see if a Bull Mastiff / Boxer cross would like to stay with us for her holiday in September. :T

Flying - has been non-existent; must do better.

Tomorrow though, I want to crack on with my canine first-aid course; once I have my certificate, it can go on my online profile with the dog-sitting company that I have it, which should make me more "saleable" iyswim. :o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

I hope that now the health test stresses are behind you things get a bit easier for you to cope lw. Hope the doggy meet n greet goes well.
    Bathroom is now spotless
Got to nip shops then start food ds1 hasn't decided yet if he's open mic'ing tonight. His trouble is he plays hard and rips his hands to shreds get he plays and they were a mess after saturdays session at the cafe. Someone tried to shake his hand after but he had to do a rather dodgy wrong handed shake then showed them the bleeding mess that was his strumming hand. (He was trying to hide it under his jacket, but they thought he was being rock star when he declined a handshake)

Washing is all dry, dd2 left DGS nappy bag here at the weekend so all of his washable nappies and liners are now all folded and ready for use.
I'm never sure if it gets left on purpose some weeks

Need to find time to do my meditation home work, we are supposed to do 10 mins each night but it's not working doing it at bedtime, I relax so much I fall asleep.

Right better get on, I've just had a coffee while listening to a few frank turner tracks so my batteries are recharged

  • Just sticking my head through the door to say hello. Half term, trying to fly but failing. Will be back full throttle next week . I have a huge frog to eat. It will have to wait as I need to do it on my own and I have DH and DD at home this week.
    Bossy please be careful xx
LW, glad your meds have been sorted. And I bet your releived your hearing test is over.
I have a smear test due, I think it will be my last as I am 63 later this year. To be honest I feel daft having one at my age and want to put it off but hoe can I nag my older girls to go for regular check ups and not go myself? Anyway that's another frog for me to sort out next week. If I am not careful I am going to be back to square one where I was when I first joined in with all.
Anyway. I will pop in soon . Big hugs to everyone xx

Been at paid work all day, then home to do the usual things...WM run, washing hung up, dinner cooked, kitchen tidied, packed lunches sorted. Grocery shopping list for tomorrow written. It isn't too long, but let's see if I can get home with less than 3 big bags. I need to have another effort at using up the freezer, as I have started to fill it up again. And I was doing so well last month.
Jogging friends have called off for tomorrow morning, and am glad of it, listening to the wind and rain outside. I know I ought to be a little bit sorry about not going, but actually I might just make it to tomorrow's list this way! Not to mention today's...

Keep an eye on kiddies online - make sure you know who they are talking to. Older teens could watch Kayleigh's Story - and boys are JUST as vulnerable!

OMG - this made me feel sick when I read it today as yesterday we had an awful phone call from DH's ex-wife to say my DSD's boss has been arrested for child grooming and other offences against minors.

DSD swears he never did anything to her but did reveal he'd been trying to get her to work in the shop on her own, rather than with another member of staff there too. As you can imagine DH is threatening to make the journey on his crutches to sweep his little girl away from harm. We are both truly shocked and upset. DSD has to be interviewed and has to see a psychologist and depending on their assessment, follow-up session(s) might be recommended.

Flying has taken a bit of a back seat today. I'll be back in tomorrow.
  • Hugs and support to all your family dizzy, it is such a horrible feeling when someone that appeared to be trustworthy is found not to be that in the slightest. I do hope that your DSD gets proper help and support through this. I pray she was never in a position to be in harms way but she will still need sone form of counselling to help her get over the 'what could have been' issues she may face.
