Call BT on 0800800300 tell them you're considering leaving because of the price rise and ask what deal they can come up with, you can mention a friend has INF 1 @£25.99 or Inf 2 @£33.49 and you would like the same.
I got Inf 2 @£33.49 inc line rental but I'm FTTP and there is not a lt of choice in providers.
Thanks for providing me with Barclays phone number.............:D

Update......
BT phone number should of course be 0800 800 150.
Just rung them & after a bit of 'my friend pays £25.99' & getting passed to various departments......
RESULT !!
24 month contract plus unlimited broadband / eves & weekend calls only/
Line Rental Saver discount gives me £25.99 per month.
Saving me £10.00 per month.
Thanks to every one who contributed to this thread.
The drinks, as they say, are on me.

Well done, but just make sure that you get it in writing.
There are several posters on this forum who then find that BT deny everything.0 -

For those interested I changed from BT Infinity 2 to Plusnet Fibre. Exactly the same speeds as I got with BT. I don't do dodgy filesharing, bittorrent or Kodi streaming though so I don't know about that but certainly for gaming, web browsing, Youtube, VOD with Sky, Netflix etc and downloading stuff such as Linux DVD ISO files its no different. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
