Just when I am about to do an update something always happens

Anyway, I was very pleased on Thursday as it only cost £27.91 for the garage to look at my car. The last garage said I needed a repair but my work garage said my car is perfectly fine.
I spoke to the manager there and he has said I can still take my car in for repairs or to do the mot after I have left :j I am so happy about that as I know they wont make faults up like other places. :T

Friday, Saturday and Sunday were nsd.
Worked for my mom and got £52.50 which has now gone into the savings account.

I had a budget of £200 this month for petrol, food and general spends. (starting from Wednesday) I may have to rethink this as I have already spent £111.36 which included having my hair do, petrol and car check.

Think I will have a look on other diaries to see what others are spending.

    DD paid
    Mortgage £300
    TV licence £12.12
    Npower £45
EE £8.35 - (need to cancel this DD as this was the final bill)
    Smile loan - £2821.98 / £0:)
    Lloyds CC - £3102.54 / £3071.51

Sometimes I wish I went with my gut feeling more.
My dad is now trying to encourage me to find another job. There is a vacancy at my sister's workplace and he is strongly advising that I apply for it.

He just doesn't understand that I don't need to get a job straight away. I think I will keep my plans to myself in future :wall::silenced:

  • Well it has now been one week since I finished work and left my job of 17 years and today was pay day

I have paid the remaining balance of £693 to Npower and have asked smile for another settlement figure for my loan.

Paying these two off will save me paying £188.89 a month and I will then only need to pay Lloyds @ £30pm and B'card @ £170pm.

I've just read your diary. You seem to be very organised and know what you need to do for the time being.

Good luck with the future journey.

    Hi Parsniphead :)

Thanks for reading. On some days I can be organised but on others I feel like I live in chaos, that's when I binge on everyone else's diary's

Yeah to the new month :j

Finally got the settlement figure for my loan, it is £2844.42. I have transferred the money into my smile current account so they can take the money from there and close the account. They said it can take up to 7 days. I really hope they do it in three so I can up date my signature. This will move my dfd from Dec 2018 to March 2018.

I have also paid my water bill (6 months) £187.13 and cleared the balance on my First Utility account £111.03. I have cancelled the dd for my tv licence as I have been paying this monthly and now want to start paying yearly again. I will have to call back today as they could only cancel it yesterday and wait for the system to update before I can change to yearly payments.

Wow doesn't money go quickly. I am writing everything down and spending very carefully. I have held off with booking a holiday first as I wanted to make sure all bills were taken care of. Now none of my redundancy money will be used for a holiday but I will use the money I get from my work shares instead. So that amount will determine where we can go and for how long.

£21,000 has now been moved to a separate account so I cannot dip into it. £1008 will now be my emergency fund and £19,992 will be my wage for the next 12 months (£1666 pm).
Any money I now make will be saved and used next year when my redundancy pay finishes this time next year.

    One more thing.
I am going to have to remain single for the next year as I haven't budgeted for dating unless he is a handsome prince and wants to spoil me with nice things:D

You sound like you are doing very well and good on you for escaping what seems to be a very bad relationship. I hope he does not pester you for any of your redundancy pay.

I wonder if your dad is aware that financially you have some breathing space? I think if my daughter was to leave their jobs voluntarily I would worry about them unless they reassured me that financially they would be ok. If the job was bad for your mental health though you are better off out of it.
