As customer services, financial services and public services are no longer allowed to use premium rate 084 or 087 numbers, don't let inclusive calls, or lack of, to 0845 and 0870 numbers become some sort of deal breaker.

I only want upto 40mb which has been near enough with Sky.
I also want anytime calls to 01 ,02, 0800 ,0870, 0845 and mobiles just like i am with Sky.
I also only want a 12 month contract as my firm maybe closing one of the 2 UK bases or moving abroad alltogether which has nothing to do with Brexit so we are being told.
Its £33/month on 12 month contract with Plusnet. (£25+£8 for unlimited calls)

Think 0845/0870 numbers aren't included. Mobile minutes are 2000minutes a month. If you phone you might get a better deal.

I have just checked and it says on the page using boatman post and click Plusnet it takes you to Plusnet's Fibre and unlimited page and for unlimited UK calls and mobile calls 01, 02, 03, 0870/0845 and mobile calls at any time.
  • If you have fibre then why not use VOIP? It's far cheaper than the rip off charges made by most phone companies with extortionate call costs. Calls are a fraction of a penny per minute. 01 02 03 etc costs me 0.004p/min most mobile calls cost me 0.007p/min while there are some which cost 0.103p/min. 084x are fairly expensive at 0.104p/min and 087x are 0.205p/min. 0800 calls are usually free on most phone lines. I do not know why anyone would still be calling 0870 numbers. A £5 credit lasts me a very long time. Since I purchased the credit I have only used just over 0.53€ since last August as I was using up a small amount of credit I had but in total it is no more than 0.75€ in just under 6 months.
  • This is interesting - I was with Sky Normal Broadband - £18.99+£10 due to start after a promotional period and rang to cancel and switch to plusnet fibre. I processed the cancelling early due to line rental price hike.

Was due to cancel on 25th Feb - rang for an update and they offered me
Sky Fibre Unlimited on a 18 month Contract
£18 Broadband and free line rental for 12 months, so I've cancelled plusnet and remaining with sky.

Is it just the free line rental that goes up to full price in 12 months or the BB as well?
  • both i believe but he said afterr 12 months you can renegotiate....

My fibre, line rental and anytime extra at £23 PM is ending in 5 days and the price will then be £47 PM.
Had a chat last week and they would not go below £34 PM i think for 10 months on a 12 month contract.
Went onto cancellations today and my lot goes of on 20th March as 30 days notice.
I was not happy with the chat person as when they askes me a question and i replied the chat persons reply/question had nothing to do with my answer i gave like i told them the reason i wanted to leave and reply was what date do you want to leave. I said what dates can i have and reply was you have a £5 discount on the £47 which has nothing to do with my last answer. Also asked during notice period can i swap ISP and reply was "anything else i can help you with today?".
I think they were chatting to 2/3/4 or more people at once as the chat replies were hard to follow.
Anyhow Sky have given me 20 March as cut off day so now will look for replacement and was considering BT or Plusnet.

An update for anybody following my thread.
As you can see from the thread i was not happy with the chat person's replies/questions.
I was going to swap to Plusnet or BT yesterday and i called Sky to asked about swapping over as the chat person did not answer my question about this and she looked at the account and told me i can not change as there is cease action on the line nobody can take it over until it is disconnected and then a new firm can reconnect.
I explained about not being told about this and she checked the chat log and she could see he never answered my questions about this and said sorry and she would stop the cease on the line.
She asked about why i was leaving and she said she would see what she could do.
After a few offers i got the above for £34.49pm and i managed to get a new Sky Q hub with free delivery on a 12m contract for 12m's which i am happy with but some people may get better offers than that but to me i am content with that price and i dont have to change over to a new firm.

That seems right but when I checked it shows that calls are charged. So I'm confused myself.
