Small loan but want it gone!

Seen my new wage slip with the promotion money and it'll really help me pay off my debt and get to saving.
According to my calculations my debt will be clear June 30th!
That would mean just over a year to pay off a loan that was meant to be 3 years long!!
My TV is on the way out, speakers are starting to go and it's a plasma TV I bought off my parents when they upgraded their TV. It's not an energy efficient TV at all (235w an hour!!) and I watch a lot of TV or have it on for back ground noise so in August I'm going to treat myself to an A+/a++ energy rating TV!
This will be out of money that would have gone to savings. I do have 0% purchases on my credit card but would rather the balance go down and I've got the money in my emergency fund but the TV is still working and isn't essential now.
Hope anyone that popping by is doing OK!0 -
Payday!!!
I've done my usual money shuffle to my yearly bills, christmas and also one for some money for download festival (friends have bought me a ticket to say thank you for things)
Also just paid £300 off my credit card.
I've decided that any extra money that I could send to credit card this month will instead go to my savings as there's no interest for over 2 years and the amounts wouldn't be enough to make it a month earlier that it is cleared.
Got my sister spending the night Saturday as she is in the area for a hen do... Got to meet her at the station drive her to her friends then pick her up at stupid o'clock as I don't feel comfortable letting my sister walk the 15 minutes here as she doesn't know the area. I'm definitely getting the bad end of this deal.
Sunday I'm driving her home and then visiting the family as I didn't last weekend so I doubt Sunday will be a NSD.
Today after work I must go get some more bin bags and a few cleaning bits but shouldn't be spending too much. I've already got the chocolate in for a film on the sofa Saturday :-)0 -
Well done on the temp promotion :j
That's a fair bit of extra cash that you wouldn't normally have. Make sure you use some of it to treat yourself though.. Well I suppose the festivals is just that :rotfl:
Only 3 months until your debt free if i'm reading that right? That's amazing
Think of all the spare cash you will have when it is paid off. Oh how I wish I was that close
Good job so far, keep it going.

Thanks hillwalker!
Yep 3 paydays and it'll be gone! Though after that it's a new TV then saving like mad so I can get a freehold house.
I can't really complain as I do have a flat but the service charges are extortionate and I miss having a garden or parking.
It may not be 3 months for you but you'll get there!
Really hoping I can get a permanent promotion but even if I don't it'll be enough to clear the debt and get a new TV.
Flats pretty much tidy ready for my sister and there's chocolate and energy drinks in the fridge so I don't fall asleep waiting for the ' come pick me up ' call at stupid o'clock.0 -
Well done on clearing the loan so quick and sensible to move it to 0% credit card as long as the fee covered the interest you would have paid. Hope the credit card reduces as quickly. You seem very much on the ball with budgeting so sure you will soon be debt free. Management fees on leasehold properties are a pain. Mind you the maintenance of freehold houses is expensive too so swings and roundabouts.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Thanks enthusiastic.
The fees here are around £1500 a year! That's for a building where the carpet in communal hallways is threadbare in places and lifting that they put up trip hazard signs, the communal hallway is never cleaned properly despite there being a caretaker for the whole building here full time hours (mix of businesses and flats) graffiti on show internally they haven't sorted, a hole in a wall in the hallway.....
Oh and they always forget my bedroom window when cleaning as it's the only one on one of the sides of the building.
Not exactly big problems but there's 19 flats....0 -
Ah soo glad the weekend with my sister is over.
I really wonder how 2 sisters so close in age brought up the same can be so different.
I mentioned I'm saving for a new TV and will probably have a nice new one in August and her response was just put it on a credit card and pay it off and once the deal ends you can just balance transfer it to another card. Then she went on to say how she's just about to pay the last payment for her holiday this year and she put doing up the garden and furniture on her credit cards and that she needs to buy a new car soon so that'll be going on credit...
This after a scare this week that her boyfriend was going to be made redundant (he's safe, some of his colleagues aren't)
Spent £22 filling up the car, got half a tank left but that should do me the whole month now car wise.
Got a belated Christmas present off my brother of £30 but owed my mum £20 for vets bill for the rats which she kept when I moved out but RIP they're all gone now.
Came home from my parents with tonnes more shampoo and conditioner my mums gone off, a tassimo machine, new cat scratching post and some drinks she bought for me ages ago so not too bad really.
My sister did give me £5 for petrol though so not too spendy of a day really.
Now must go find something to cook for dinner.
Hope everyone is doing OK!0 -
6th of April, £355 in my account and only £31.90 of bills to come out and £90 in cash.
I do owe a friend £14 for adding 6kg of cat food to one of her online orders and will need a tank or 2 of petrol in the motorbike this month.
Got my rally so need to grab a few things for that (few drinks, batteries for my air bed pump etc) which I may go grab tonight but otherwise I won't be needing much and hopefully will have more money to split between my yearly bills account buffer (used some for car repairs which is what it's partly there for) and my emergency fund.
Already upped it to £700 this month :-)
I would love to put an extra £50 in each account but time will tell!0 -
Argh decisions!
For about a year I've been looking for a new small tent for motorbike rallies as most of the time the weather is dodgy and a little porch is great for sitting in and space for my motorbike lid and leathers etx whilst there.
I've found a Vango omega 250 which with renewal of my go outdoors card and price matching... £121. I could get it but then no extra to savings (£50ish to savings this month already and £300 to credit card already)
Question is do I treat myself or not????
Any help would be appreciated!!!0 -
I've decided not to treat myself to a new tent... No local shops have it on display and it is rather expensive as a treat!
My friend who cancelled coming with me for my tattoo came over and her and her other half treated us all to take out which was rather appreciated then we popped out for a few drinks to a local club night. Only spent £14 so a nice cheap treat!
Spent the day trying to make an outfit for a night out to a club in London for my birthday next month but really struggling to be pleased with what I've done so far!
Otherwise it's just been the kinda feeling down, financially, job wise and all I can't complain at life at all. I've done great (IMO) to get my debt down quickly and still have a life but I've not had a serious relationship for about 4 to 5 years and haven't had a date in so long... I know I really shouldn't compare myself to any friends but everyone I'm close to is in a relationship, my best friend is getting married this year and most people I talk to are dating someone.
28 next month, single for a long old time with 4 cats... Suppose I should just embrace the inevitability of being a crazy cat lady.0
