Small loan but want it gone!

Thanks guys, I'll get there in the end.
Bobarella - I moved out about 2 years ago on my own and I've always been in fear of ending up like some friends of mine in living on instant noodles etc so I've always stock piled food to avoid this, despite having a small emergency fund and a credit card.
Had a last minute surprise of a friend turning up today.
She ended up cutting my hair (hadn't been done for nearly a year and tonnes of split ends) so I told her to get her boyfriend over and did a lovely meal for them.
She wouldn't take any money off me but she would take some excess body wash from the body shop as payment.
I have this problem of buying too much of things or getting bought things I don't need. I have around a 2 year supply of shampoo thanks to a messed up delivery and probably the same in body wash shower gel so loosing one doesn't hurt me at all.0 -
Wow sounds like a great friend to have!
Impressive stock piling

A night with the cats sounds much better than a night at the pub!
Ok... who am I kidding, I love a night at the pub but sometimes for even £4.90 a pint is ridiculous.
No wonder, people tend to drink more at home now and nightclubs are dying by the month.Savings as of April 2023 Savings account - £26460.50(14474.88)Current account - £2140.24(4576.79)Total - £28600.74(19051.67) £1010 (£65pm CS/BS) £250 CS/BS/JS0 -

I do still head out occasionally as I'm 27,single and well, trying to make sure I don't turn into a crazy cat lady but I'm failing at that as I have 4...
The pubs /clubs here aren't too bad really.
A local club generally is £2 to £2.50 for a single vodka and mixer all night and is walking distance so when I do go it's only £25 max a night normally but I really want to try to get this loan done more. This area has a fair few students so pubs and clubs survive!0 -

She really is! I helped her when she was having a rough time and and helps me when I'm in a rougher patch.
We've been friends for 15 years now and she's considering moving up to the Midlands after I do (well it's the 5 year plan)
Thanks. Smellies wise, boots points in Christmas sales are a great help! I buy Christmas presents from boots on events days so it boosts my balances.0 -

Ah mind is doing it's usual over thinking again... My car mot is due next month and I have it booked it for the 4th.
Now my car is a little run around and I've got the money for insurance and mot put to one side in my yearly bills accounts (plus a mini buffer of around £250 to cover changes in insurance prices, service charges on my flat etc)
My car is possibly worth £500 max, if that. I've got a funny feeling it's going to fail on the driveshaft gaiters and maybe a few other issues. Having checked prices I'd be looking at around £150 plus fitting, which between the buffer and emergency fund I could cover but it's the when to call it a day with my car.
If I did call it a day, it would be a new car and that wouldn't be cheap obviously!
Part of me wants to call the garage and book it in sooner now just so I know!0 -

So this month, I overpaid my loan by £176 already and did spend a chunk in a fabric store but this keeps me busy and in making clothing rather than down the pub or shops.
Any advice greatly appreciated!0 -
Oh and 2 cars is a runaround car and a motorcycle! I actually walk to work so both are social only0
