Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
You seem to have a good amount left each month to play with.

Debt neutral :) 27/03/17 from £40k:eek: in the hole 2012.
    Roadkill 17 £56.58 2016-£62.28 2015- £84.20)
    RYSAW17 £1900 2016 £2,535.16 2015 £1027.20
  • Unfortunately, I do end up blowing a fair bit but this will change!

    Yesterday was another NSD!
But today I have spent £3.85 but I'm now covered for drinks at work until the end of the month and I had run out of cheese and chocolate biscuits which to me is essential!

I've moved £90 into my overpayment account, hopefully I'll be able to send it all over to my loan but it's there until the 27th in case any emergencies or unexpected things come up!

    Slowly getting there!

No advice, it looks like you're doing really well and clued up. I was pleased I bought a 6 pack of crisps for £1 today to go with my packed lunches.. and yes, cheese and choccy biscuits are part of life's essentials.

Thanks Naomi I really appreciate it!
I must admit I can't have a packed lunch without crisps! What did you manage to get?
I've got 2 planned nights out next month that may not be the cheapest and most likely car repairs that may go over my buffer in the yearly bills. I hate touching my emergency fund so it may be less to loan to cover!

Oh dear, I'm so boring I went for ready salted! :o I just think that covers all my bases no matter what sandwiches I bring in!

I'm just starting to rebuild my buffer, long year & dodgy builders :( But MrM's car has just failed it's MOT so had to spend £120 on it.

At least you have some saved so it's not all shock :money:

  • Nothing wrong with ready salted, my cupboard is full of them and the walkers green sunbites!

Ouch, I wish you luck! Do you have a diary? I have been reading here for years but only recently posting.

I honestly don't know what I'd do without my buffer, I'm lucky enough to have a decent paid job and mortgage but then I'm currently hit with £1400 a year service charges for the flat
I can't wait to be loan free and saving for a freehold house!

I do have a diary although it's slightly unloved. Feel like I'm talking to myself most of the time which is a little disparaging and one of the reasons I try and comment on others diaries. My diary is A Ditherer's Dairy (again).

We were doing really well with out debt until MrM got made redundant a few years ago. Then I did my usual and stuck my head in the sand. Before I knew it, debt had doubled. We did a load of work on our house last year that then went all wrong with the builders. We've had to take out another mortgage to be able to just pay to put it right so I NEED to be on the ball and get back to my budget and sort us out.

I know I'll get there but it's a long hard process.

  • I'll be sure to head over!
    I do appreciate everyone's replies.

Sounds like you've really had a rough time with it and I wish you the best of luck, I know you'll get there in the end :-)
  • Got a message off a friend today, he's ordered my ticket to bum in the mud.. (it's a motorbike rally in April)
It's always a fantastic weekend and usually quite cheap! Camping, music and motorbikes... I'll be in heaven :j
    £27 for the ticket
    £15 ish petrol
Already have all the camping gear I could ever need so just a little spending money and can take food and drink with you so really can't wait
Just hope it's nice and sunny
He's said he's not in a rush for the money either but either way!
Has cheered my day up already :D
  • So yesterday I managed another NSD but today won't be so lucky.

My friend popped over for the usual catch up last night and treated is to Chinese :j

Today I must grab a few essentials from the shops and I've got a meeting with the new management agents for my flats. Hopefully they'll be reducing the extortionate fees and finally decorate the communal areas.

I've applied for a 0% credit card so I can pay off my loan with slightly less interest and I've managed to nearly complete my application for a temporary promotion!
    Wish me luck!
