    I've been Money Tipped!
When I was in pretty much exactly this situation, a colleague said to me "oh, you mean the dressing gown syndrome...". I didn't understand until she said it's being hung up on the back of the door and forgotten about until you're needed again!

OP - I strongly suspect that your wife has lost all trust in you (made much worse by your snooping, imo) and without trust, no relationship of any kind can survive let alone prosper.

For your sake, I hope I am wrong but I agree with other responders here that you should be prepared for the worst.

And that's my concern. I want to spend the rest of my life with my Wife.

See, this is all about what you want; and what you want does not appear to be "for her to be very very happy." Until that and that alone is your concern, I'd say it's over.

Could not been said any better.
The word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.

Words are cheap, op. Walk the walk - arrange asset division or move out with whatever she is happy to give you , rebuuld your life and then try to get her back. If you done that I would have said "yes this guy means what he says". But I can bet once your practical sides of life are settled without her your love will suddenly disappear.

  • Im afraid this is very similar to my break up with my ex/kids dad.
After years of trying to talk to him about various relationship problems, getting through my own problems with depression, raising the kids with little help from him [because ''he went to work''] so many attempts to save 'us', I just drifted away from him. Stopped trying. Stopped feeling love, then stopped caring. And then met someone else online who seemed to care about what I said [I married him]..So, the guy I met was the catalyst for the 'I dont love you/its over' talk, but he was not the actual reason. Perhaps OP needs to ignore Mr Texter as he is likely the catalyst in this situation, not the cause.

I also agree with the others who have said shes likely agreed to counselling as its a good, safe way of saying things with a referee present - things that are uncomfortable to say otherwise. Things pertaining to an amicable but seperate future.
