Boris had the job for 8 years he wasn't any better, upping the congestion charge, introducing the Low Emission Zone, handing swathes of road space to the lycra elite etc. etc.
Yes, we want more air pollution NOW, it's good for you, just like smoking er.. used to be...
Fortunately I don't live in London, but you don't have to go far to find articles on air quality, mortality rates and so forth.
Anybody who ever visits London can also testify to how unpleasant the air can be, so although some of you may wish to pollute excessively many of us would rather you didn't..0 -
But then you are driving a Dacia
As opposed to a !!!!!! old £500 Clio diesel?
I know where i'd rather be.
Didnt say thats what i personally would do (as i dont have a £500 !!!!!! diesel clio which would be a prerequisite in the example), just that i think Dacia would be among the main beneficiaries (budget car brands were last time)0 -

Someone else who's swallowed the eco-carp.
If London is so bad it must be in the top 20 or perhaps top 50 most polluted city in the world, right? No, try 2,516th in the list of most polluted cities.

I don't know about you but I can't even name 2,500 cities.0 -

I know thats written tongue in check but the reality
it'll be "scrappage" so your diesel car will be scrapped, it wont be traded in or left for you to sell on
it would need to be worth less than £4,500 (or whatever the amount is set at
you would need to be able to afford a brand new car as it will be "money off" your brand new car
I would say the likes of Dacia will benefit greatly from this.
Punt in your old !!!!!! Clio diesel worth £500, get £4,500 off a new Dacia @ £5995.
Actually, granted, you'll not get a new electric car for the price of a Dacia, but it's still £4,500 off the price of a car, AND you still have your old diesel (or trade it in), you don't have to scrap it!F3vk the bribe I'm keeping my 2.0 2004 vectra diesel. I'll not ague with that, but just one small example of how these things aren't totally separate - How much does it cost the NHS to treat asthma sufferers whose conditions worsen when exposed to what comes out of your exhaust?0 -

That's because almost none of those cities are in the "1st World". Take away the developing world and it looks like London comes joint first with New York for pollution.
You can't claim London air quality is good because it's better than Khartoum (Sudan).0 -
