'I cover the tin with tin foil to prevent the top burning.'
Sorry to hijack the conversation and sorry to sound thick, but do you mean that you cover the whole of the top of the tin after you've put the mixture in, like a lid?? Or do you line the tin before putting the mixture in? Thanks!!0 -
they mean lid .....0

There's a link to carrot cake in the first post.
I only put foil on top towards the end.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

That's the one I used first and second.. turned out a righty old disaster.. killed 3 starlings!!
Then I used someone elses.. that killed a blackbird and a thrush..
This one.. is.. edible I think.. it took half an hour longer than stated.. but hey ho.. it looks like a cake.. rather than a used car sponge, which MUST be a good sign.. Best get looking pretty as hubby's 'rather late treat for painting the bathroom, watching the 8 children & cooking dinner' on Saturday.
TADAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh.. I put foil on late too.. because I was too eager to read the tips before getting it in the oven.. lolLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Hello everyone :hello:
I've finally baked my brownies! I took them to my friends' house as a surprise and they were very pleased! Then there were a few left so I brought them home for my flatmates. Also, one accidently fell in my mouth and it was very tasty!
Here's a brownie for you lot...
And this is what it looked out straight from the oven...
They were lovely and moist and rich and I thoroughly enjoyed making them and giving them away!
