3 options, none likely to succeed. None of them are going to 'leave you alone'. Their modus op is to ramp up the pressure until you crack and pay. So unless anyone can produce a viable option to kill it dead (other than landowner), it's ignore all the way unless court papers are served.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; show him how to catch fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.

I was thinking along the lines that TCM clearly aren't litigious, but more likely to choose someone who totally ignores them as their first court case rather than someone who has made them aware they have got the process wrong. Happy to ignore anything before court papers though if experience indicates that engaging with them makes them chase it harder. I certainly won't be paying £160 unless a judge orders me to though, that's ridiculous for a minor error on a free car park!

This is a totally unregulated, unpredictable, unethical skimdustry. All we can give you is best advice based on advising and seeing the results of it with tens of thousands of motorists every year.

Things change rapidly in this game. Ignoring them might work - but you won't know for sure until 6 years have expired. Engaging with them might work, but please tell us when they send their flock of pigs to deliver you their 'charge cancelled' letter. I can't guarantee that one route or the other will or won't work, or result in you being sued (or not) through the county court.

Please realise that their entire business is about penalising people. The only money they can earn is by penalising people. They do not routinely cancel parking charges because they then don't earn any money. Because you don't like their PCN it won't stop them trying to grab your money.

Same as if you don't like baked beans and write to Heinz to tell them, they won't stop their production lines!

Ok thank you, that makes sense, will go down the ignore route. As has been mentioned, it seems unlikely they will take it to court, and at least I have the late NTK thing to bring up if they do.

So two years after this I've just received a Letter Before Claim! I take it there's no argument to be made about them sitting on it for this long? I don't even have that car anymore

They had SIX years to pursue you for the purported charge.

Ridiculous though isn't it! Currently drafting an SAR, though I don't wholly understand the benefit of it beyond giving them a bit of work to do.

The benefit of submitting a SAR is for you to get hold of everything the PPC has "on you" do you can defend their allegations in small claims court.

It's to see their hand, see all evidence & photos they have, ready to defend a court claim. Far better to know your enemy and see their hand early.

Who is the LBC from, which solicitor?

Does it give you 30 days to respond?

    Which PPC is this?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for the replys guys. It's from Gladstones - I gather they aren't great?

Yes it does give me 30 days to respond. It doesn't give all the practice direction information they are apparently supposed to give though.
