They have six years to try. Just because they don't do court now does not mean they won't in the future. Bunging in a claim five years down the line often means the motorist has moved and knows nowt about it until they do a credit check and find they have an unopposed CCJ against them.

Don't ignore it. Do ask the restaurant to get involved. Do leave negative feed back if they don't. Do leave slightly more positive negative feedback if they do get it cancelled.

Ok so, restaurant didn't want to know. The keeper received an NTK later than the permissible time limit. The keeper then contacted the parking co via their appeals page to tell them the NTK was received late and for them to drop it. No response from them, a few weeks passed and now a debt recovery agency are chasing the keeper for £160. Their letter indicates they are willing to look into any appeal. Am I correct in thinking the keeper should just ignore them though? Or appeal to IPC at this point? Don't want this to affect credit rating.

I would ignore it. Leave a bad review on TripAdvisor for the restaurant, it sometimes prompts action.

They might try court action at some point but it looks like the odds are low. Obviously it's your decision ultimately but I would fancy my chances of nothing happening.

Cheers, that's what we will run with then! I take it that if it did go to court I could just say "They sent the NTK late, so can't hold the keeper liable" and be confident of winning?

Nope, if only it were that easy. Read some of the threads currently proceeding through the court process.

Will do, do you agree the best course of action is still to ignore?

What else were you thinking of?

    Other options could be:

    - Pointing out to the debt recovery agency that the NTK was late so they leave me alone and refer it back to TCM. They do briefly touch upon offering to look into this in the letter they sent. I'm unsure whether this is a legitimate offer to sort things out or just a means of engaging people in correspondence/trying to appear reasonable.

    - Re-asserting to TCM that they sent the NTK late and to call off the debt recovery agency (they never responded last time so unsure whether it was overlooked somehow)

    - IAS appeal (though I can see from other threads they are standardly turned down)
