yes passport checks are automated centrally now so no hiding and ANPR if number plate was to be checked, though this was a hire car. The days of getting away with it are fast going.
But we dont want to get away with it, just transfer it to the driver.0 -
once Brexit hits, will refuse to issue her a visa
We didn't need a visa to visit Spain before we joined the EEC/EU (even under Franco), so why would we need one after we've left? Actually, we didn't even need a passport - just a folded cardboard form called a British Visitors' Passport that cost £1.00.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0 -

Citizens Advice Bureau Spain website.
There are some advantages to a significant ex-pat population. That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

I'd like to know how automated passport checks work when you just drive into Spain on the motorway. Unless its changed from last year.0

Quite. The chances of a speeding ticket being linked to a passport are remote in the extreme.
And if they do, they aren't exactly going to send out a helicopter gunship to take you out (does spain even have any helicopter gunships?).
OP I'd ignore it; they won't bother chasing it and if they do with debt collection agency I've already told you what you can do.0 -

I imagine passport/visa requirements will depend entirely on what is negotiated with the EU and will match what the UK requires for visitors from the EU. If we ask for a visa for visitors from Spain then I would expect that they will do the same for us. Hopefully it won't get that petty but we just don't know yet.0 -

Possibly but it may well be a mini version of teh India entry requirements.
British people going on holiday to spend money, Spanish coming here to work, wouldn't me sensible to make it too difficult for Brits to enter, but it has not stopped the Indians being awkward.0
