Applying online or in store?

Thanks for your responses so far!
I'm looking at getting a card with who I already bank with, so I'm hoping that will also work in my favour as Sncjw & PeacefulWaters suggested. My main concern was the method, but if both in store and the online application is the same then I assume it's a matter of preference.

I applied for my first credit card with my bank and accepted straight away. They will have more detail financial information as well.

Did you speak to them about it first (for any indication) or did you just go through with the application? :)

Very good question - hopefully this means you are thinking of speaking to your bank before doing an application. They will tell you whether you are eligible to apply......if they say you are not then don't bother doing the application with them (it's one less application on your CR for no reason).

You can then make an informed choice and use the eligibility calculator to decide where you are best placed to apply.

I booked an appointment with the bank. On the day I explained I wanted my first credit card and they showed me two different ones. I told her which one was best for me. Showed me a video about it. Then did the application she used info from my I'd for this . She asked me what limit would I like. I said a grand. I got given 2 grand.

Went through the application and then said I would get my card in the post

Hi all, quick update. I went into my bank to speak about the credit card I was interested and for their advice. I asked if they thought I was eligible and they said yes. Applied the same day online and my application has been successful. :T

Yes and similarly to yourself, more than I was expecting.
