The Compers Inn (part 47)

I entered my son in a local newspaper comp to win a wedding. He got to the last 4 and then it was online voting for the winner. They said you could vote as often as you like so family and friends voted like crazy. You had to log in, vote, log off, login again and so on. Very laborious, He was told he was unsucccessful. I queried the votes and was told he got 4% but the winner got 55%. Alarm bells clanging! They then confirmed that my son got just under 4,000 votes but the winner got 54,000. When I complained that this was simply not humanly possible and that the winner must have used some kind of computer programme or bought votes off one of those websites who then provide votes they refused to even investigate. I am happy to lose fairly but this cannot possibly have been done legitimately. Any advice as to what to do will be welcome.0

:hello: Good morning everyone
I hope you're all ok and managed to get through yesterday
without any mishaps (Friday 13th)!
It seems as if we are going to have beautiful weather down
here today, tomorrow and Monday with just a splash of
rain here and there. Apparently it'll be quite warm too
considering the time of year! Although thinking about it,
I'm pretty sure this time last year there was a bit of a
heatwave going on in the UK!
The other plus side re the warm temperature is that it saves
on the heating bill! :money:
No mention of Storm Ophelia on the online weather app, just
says it could become fairly windy but it's seems to be one of
the main topics on the TV at the mo! It could be the lull before
the storm or maybe (hopefully) it'll just pass us by.
Sounds as if you had a brilliant time yesterday evening with
sheils sylv. :T
Well must fly - got loads of comps to catch up with before
my day begins.
Have a lovely and lucky day all and a brilliant weekend
whatever you're up to.

Well that is us back home and should be us for a while now.
We had a lovely time visiting seaside resorts, NT and EH properties etc
Road closures and road works were pretty bad but apart from that things all went well. Had a lovely evening with Sylvia and Fred to finish our break last night. Was annoying to leave nice weather and come back to rain though. The heatwave won't be coming here Alfie I'm afraid.
Got a wash load on already. Must get on as DS3 should be appearing sometime.

Good Evening all..should be tucked up in bed reading really , The joy of choosing a new book from the shelf is pulling me but it's late
Leaffun well done on wins xx
Alfie Kitty is beautiful colour, is she/he silver tabby? We have 3 rescues one tabby/bengal that just turned up with the postman and we never found who he belonged to poor lamb was tiny terrified kitten, mangey with fleas , the other two where litter mates about to be pts due to over crowding at the rescue place and they where 6 already no one seems to want "older" cats
The hurricane. I was 9 we lived in some woods..guess who didn't live in wood when it was over? We all missed them , only one house in the village got destroyed (tree right through house) We did have a massive oak miss our house and land in the garden, I have memorys of sleeping in the large cupboard under stairs and my dad chainsawing all the wood up for the elderly people , was it really that long ago?!
Sheils Love seasides and being blown about this time of year, also very into Nt and Eh , sounds liek you had a lovely time x
Firefly well done on winCinema is so dear these days!
I also had a surprise win a large box of boys toys (Some sort of ball firing track thing) , I hadn't been informed , thanked op. Hadn't thought of sending a pm before just on forum, will do that from now on I think. Doing really well with wins this month, probably due a lull soon,
Went to Archeology dig with eldest two today ..2.5 hours of digging and sorting about 20 of us all we found was a brick ha ha. I bet they uncover something tomorrow, shall be most annoyed.
Think may go pond dipping and water test analyzing meant to be nice, or it was last time I heard.
Have a good one all sorry for waffling, keep toasty and safe xxCompers challenge 27/70

Morning all.
Congrats on all the wins!
No wins here yet sadly. Though, a prize did show up this week. The Aquaplane. It's great. Hoping the comic books show soon, otherwise I'll have to chase.
Swimming later today with the mini me. We've moved up a group now, so new class and New venue. She's also just dropped her second nap, and the timing of this class isn't great, so fingers crossed she's not too tired. We're on the waiting list for an earlier class (9.30am), so hopefully that will work out soon.
Be lucky all! XFebruary wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Good Morning,
Not looking very nice here and is a bit windy too. Hoping I can hang some clothes out later.
Well done on the ticket win FF. Cinemas are so expensive. Not that I have been since we were taking the kids, Prefer a dvd these days.
I do love the seaside mummy2 and so many happy family memories in so many of the places. Lovely to visit new ones too. Was our first visit to Southwold on our last break which we really liked. It was our first visit to Cromer for 20 years too. Well done on the toys win.
Sounds like your DD is doing well at the swimming euronorris and hope she won't be too tired for the new classes. Remember my kids needed their naps at the correct time.
Hope everyone has a lovely day.

:hello: Good afternoon everyone
Hope you're all well on this glorious Sunday.I had a
very productive time yesterday - out gardening in the
morning, mowing lawns, weeding, pruning etc
... then decorating in the afternoon (so pleased it was
sunny cos it can be a devil to see to paint on a dreary day -
especially in my lounge)!I had a win delivered today from primarytimes :j

:T Lovely to win cinema tickets fire**fly - well done! :j :T
I know what you mean about a harsh winter after a mild
autumn. Apparently we're due one this year - we seem to
have one every 15 years!
Lol! Love this site: http://downgardenservices.org.uk/folklore.htm
.... especially the plant and animal sections - 'When the rooster
goes crowing to bed, he will rise with a watery head' :rotfl::rotfl:
Welcome back sheils. I'm afraid the warm spell is
not all good news - it's very much connected to Hurricane
Ophelia ... which is due to hit UK on Monday (by which
time it will be downgraded to a storm). Apparently the
weather for parts of our country is going to be
troublesome!
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-41627442
Well done on receiving the Aquaplane this week euronorris -
is it one of these?
http://aqua-plane.com/
I admit I haven't a clue what an Aquaplane is and
googled it.This site came up as a good contender! If
it is one of these then brilliant win! :T If I'm totally wrong
please put me out of my misery and tell me what it is.
It could be this .....
or even one of these .....
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Aww, hope swimming lesson with your 'mini me' went well
despite her not having the second nap now.mummy2threeboys wrote: »

No apologies needed for waffling mummy2threeboys - I love
to waffle - welcome to my world!
You are such a kind soul :A - I admire anyone who offers
rescue cats the chance of a forever home. :T Can't
understand why people don't want to adopt 'older' cats
either.
My lovely puddy cat is a very beautiful tortie - with quite
distinguishable splodges of black, white and ginger. Her
brother (owned by my daughter) is completely ginger! Both
quite different personality wise - ginger tom loves the outside
and quite often brings 'gifts' of dead things  (or nearly
dead things _pale_) back indoors as pressies for 'mummy and
daddy'.He's very affectionate though.
My puddy is fairly timid and much prefers staying indoors
than exploring outside. She's such a character though
and can be fairly naughty if the mood takes her! Typical
cat! Love her to bits. :grinheart
Where does the time go - it's been 30 years since The Big
Storm - I can remember it as if it was yesterday and I also
recall the devastation it caused.
:T Congrats on winning the box of boys toys and all the
other wins this month! :j I think the comping fairy has
most definitely mislayed my address.
Love the sound of the Archeology dig with your two eldest -
even if you did just end up with a brick after 2 and a half
hours of digging! :rotfl: Still you never know - a brick
today, treasure tomorrow! :T :j
Well ... that's my waffling done for now!Have a lovely
rest of the day all and please take care whatever you're
up to.
