Yes. Debit card works. Still can't access bank statements or make transfers. I could take all the money out over a few days I suppose if I really needed to.

These accounts are currently unobtainable, but pay 3% interest. Worth keeping as a savings account even if not very functional!

Keep up - they reopened applications this morning, as per all the updated Tesco threads on this board and the editorial piece at http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/banking/2017/04/tesco-bank-re-opens-applications-for-3-current-account

Yup, after posting I decided to recheck the Tesco site and found they were taking applications again. Albeit with degraded Ts&Cs, so the original offer will never be obtainable.

Anyone contemplating opening an account for serious purposes such as funding cash into it should first consult the amateur attempt at the counter service branch list - not even a postcode lookup. Seeing how few physical branches exist I now understand OPs annoyance at electronic banking having failed for him.
