O/S Daily Tuesday 7 February 2017
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark here, but temperature has risen, as it's been raining during the night, so no frost, just wet underfoot.
DH up and gone to work stupid early, DS1 now getting ready for work, DS2 still in his pit, will wake him shortly.
Dinner last night was smoked sausage and mushroom pasta in a creme fraiche sauce, found a few chicken dippers in a bag in the freezer so cooked them as well, the menfolk had a few each. Tonight we will be having fish, chips and beans/veg.
Work yesterday was another manic Monday, the office was just heaving with customers, people waiting to be seen - we eventually got caught up in the middle of the afternoon but then had so much paperwork etc to catch up and clear, not sure what today will bring, we'll see. The day passed so quickly though.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, still dark here and it feels cold though the weatherman in my tablet says that there will be sunshine for a while later.
Snoozer, I m sorry to read that sad news.
LaineyT and Coxy, thinking of you.
I don't have much planned today other than needing to go to the post office with a few parcels. Will probably go for a walk too, I'm used to walking quite a lot when at work and having time off is making me lazy.
Dinner last night was toad in the hole, purple sprouting broccoli and carrots with a shallot and parsley sauce. I have chicken marinading in spices for tonight's meal so that's going to be easy and fussless.
Hope everyone has as good a day as possible.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning all.
The weather yesterday was so awful again, low cloud, bowling wind and torrential rain along with a really icy feel. I did most of my planned work so just one bit left to do today. Had a lovely cosy chat with a neighbour planning for the new season.
Nothing much else so far. I'm back under the duvet and will stay here a wee while, until at least the sun is up.
Snoozer - such awful news last night.
Happy Tuesday everyone.0 -
Morning folks and thanks for the thread NMLC. The rain of last night has stopped and quite a decent day is forecast. It feels much milder too.
I had a rubbish night's sleep (what's new?!) couldn't get to sleep and tossed and turned for hours. Then wide awake again at silly o'clock. Too much on my mind and dwelling on it. then can't switch off.
The main cause arrived in the post yesterday. Mr TA's appointment for his repeat six monthly scans, booked at the end of next week in Leeds. Then the week after an appointment with his consultant for the results. This is to see if the therapy he had throughout last year at the Royal Liverpool is halting the progress of his tumours or whether there is any further growth. After 4 years of it I should be used to the stress of the worrying and waiting for results but it's still like living with a time bomb, never knowing when it will go off.
Meanwhile life goes on and we carry on as normally as we can. We should be thankful that Mr TA still keeps reasonably well and looks the picture of health (even though he doesn't always feel it!) It's me that looks a frazzled wreck as I do the worrying for both of us! He is of the what will be will be attitude.
Today we have decided to have a run out and treat ourselves to a pub lunch. Current thinking is Otley as we have not been for a while. I'll have a browse of the little open air market and numerous charity shops whilst he gets holed up in a coffee shop with a paper. Then we'll meet up for a late lunch. So, other than breakfast, a no cooking day for me! Just a snack will probably be enough tonight after a big lunch.
Have a good day all if you can and HUGS to the poorlies, sad and worried. Thinking of LAINEY and COXY. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Morning all,
Slept well last night. Only woke up once which is good for me and good for my hounds' ageing bladders. I had some weird and wonderful dreams though....One dream I had was that I was looking at buying an apartment. Don't know why but this one particular apartment was huge.
Not much to do in the house today but I think I'll give the hounds a trim. Their feet and ears look a bit unkept.
Onwards and forwards
Have a great day allThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Morning all,
Very cold here again but I hope we dont get more rain, the ground is saturated already.
Off to work today, im on a seven day shift this week with no inclination to do it at all !
Egg and bacon for dinner tonight I may do a few chips with it or some bread and butter so an easy meal either way.
Snozer what tragic news, hugs to you all xx
Have good days all xx0 -

Morning everyone,
Dull and overcast here, just seen the forecast and the cold weather is due to hit us tomorrow.
DOH has decided he needs a new white shirt for tomorrow so we are going to drive into C/bridge after breakfast to pick one up, thought I might have a look for a grey pashmina style wrap to go over my dark mac. It's always cold in the church and think I will need to layer up. Will also need to drop into the FD to leave our flower card along with those from SIL and nieces.
Thinking of all those with worries and sorrows, especially Snoozer take care folks x0 -
Morning all
A bit damp here in Dutch land, I'm off for a look round C&A for work trousers, it's just the same as it was in the UK. Meeting DS2 for an early lunch before my flight home at 3.
Hope you're all well, I'll catch up later. Take care. Xx0 -
Morning all x
Hugs to lainey and snoozer x
Well yesterday I did not stop. Done the whole house from to to bottom and even spent a few hours sorting my bedroom so now have 2 bags of clothes to take to cs after my mate has had a rummage through them just incase.
Today is washing day and cleaning the fish tank again.
Still getting used to my new glasses. That was why yesterday was a cleaning day I could see the dust lol.
Dinner tonight will be sausage casserole for DH and me and sausages with the last of the duchess potatoes for DD2.
DD1 has had her new boiler fitted but now her WM has packed up so no doubt she will be round in the week to do some washing.
DH was given a clean bill of health by the doc last week so just me to sort out. I have been getting a few more chest pains but the doc has said it is to do with my cough not my angina. Will just have to wait for the antibiotics to finish and see what he says next.
Anyhoo washing is not going to do itself.
Hugs to all in need xxBright Blessings xx0
