How desperate are you? If you could start your journey in Dublin, you could fly DUB - LHR - DEN - LHR for £1219 in PE/WT+

Would you consider flying to Las Vegas instead and doing the long drive from there? Not so bad if you are touring anyway.

£1,410 in business from Dublin to Atlanta to Denver on Delta.

Great stuff. Someone else told me today that Hertz Australia also give really good quotes. Just tried them out for a one way one day rental in the UK. Hertz UK £125, Hertz Australia £50!!!

For my trip this year, Avis are only charging me $100 (+ Tax) for the one way hire, whereas Hertz want an eye watering $750 (+Tax).
I'm only going from SLC - DEN - 521 mile by real world routing, so $750+ tax one way charge is outrageous.

Happily, Avis also allow a spouse as an extra driver for free.

Wow. That's a bargain, and certainly worth going via Dublin for (IMO). A longer flight, but it should be an enjoyable experience.
  • We booked our flights a couple of weeks ago as we are doing a eclipse tour, but we wanted to fly from manchester and tour flights are from heathrow, anyway booked MAN-BOS on the 07/08 for £300pp and SFO-MAN 03/09 for £549 premium. Yes it is Thomas Cook but we've always had decent flights with them and compared to Virgin prices was a no brainer. (cue it will all go pear shaped now lol)

That covers the period when the Total solar Eclipse runs across USA.

So I'd say the will only go up!

    Yes. That's why we're going.

I'm getting quoted over £10k on those flights for 3 adults and a child.

It's tight doing the 1500 miles in the time available so we can't really add another epic drive into the schedule.
