Me a Keyboard warrior, think you better take a look at yourself mate. Making all these comments on peoples posts which is of no help and saying I bottled it, but of course I forgot most people would see you as Keyboard warrior but I know you are a real tough man in real life :T0 -
TBH the end result is exactly what I'd have expected from the way you handled that. Probably could have been resolved amicably but your attitude is one of quite clearly wanting to be as antagonistic as possible.
You will no doubt feel justified in putting up your signs but I do hope that you get written permission to do so before you do because I would hate for one of the other residents to take exception to them and demand you remove them. You may also want to consult planning to see if you have to have permission from the local authority to put up the signs.
What attitude, I spoke quite normal to him an even though he knows not to park there I pointed it out just in case he was unaware. In what part of that conversation did I show attitude. I explained the situation and pointed out how what he was doing was not helping others. It was him who actually spoke in a way of not being bothered and did not care like some immature kid which I could have stooped too but decided not to and just clearly pointed out at the end what he was doing was not right.0 -

Are you certain that this house doesn't have the same access as you to the visitor spots? I bought on a new build last year and our deeds include access to visitor parking spots throughout the entire estate (well away from my house) for temporary use and visitors. Now at least two of these (I think there's about 10 in total) get used permanently by the houses next to them. (basically doubling their driveway), to be honest, it doesn't bother me, id do the same if I lived there.
The visitor spots, as I expect are yours, are owned by the site housing committee/management. If you have a problem, contact them with your issues. I think putting up signs or notifications wont do anything because they probably know they can park there too. Talk to the committee and register your complaint that the spots are being abused. In honesty, I think you're going to struggle with this one, some people are just selfish. I'd go round, be friendly and reach a compromise, say I don't mind most of the time, but if I have a visitor coming and I let him know would he mind shoving it down the street?0 -
OK, great. So what are these further measures you're discussing?
Well do not know for certain as not much you can do without it being illegal I suppose as tried talking to him and the signs but after that don't know. May ask one of the Neighbours if they want to go and speak to him or even come to a compromise even though we should not have to but if solves the situation then all good.
Plus may be wrong but I have read if you have a dispute with a Neighbour you have to declare it when selling your house0 -
Yes that's correct0

My point precisely. Your threat is hollow, and he knows it.Plus may be wrong but I have read if you have a dispute with a Neighbour you have to declare it when selling your house

Fair play and everyone is different. I have been brought up to respect others and think about my actions before I do them. So for me I can see how this is affecting other people and would not do it but I can see your point that everyone has different morales and views.
Not sure what you mean by the site housing committee/management as Miller who built the houses have left a while ago as the site is complete. I have emailed the sales woman who we dealt with on the site but would have thought once they leave a site that they are not responsible after a while but then I may be wrong. Yeah I have responded to another poster that a compromise may be next as unless we can legally stop them then it will just turn into a long feuded nightmare I suppose0 -
If they persist in parking there, there is absolutely nothing you can do. You have started a battle you can not win.0

Correct.
Well not necessarily, just I will not jump to anything hasty until I know it does not affect the other Neighbours or they agree.
For instance when those Visitors spots are blocked by visitors and some permanent bays are free they never park there so could easily arrange with the neighbours to block the visitors spaces permanently with our own cars and agree any visitors can use our permanent bays. So in essence swapping the permanent and visitors bays which is not illegal and he does not know we have done that although may figure it out in time0
