Hard to read but, the V5 is not proof of ownership, it says that on the front.
The legal owner is whoever bought it, you should have the receipt with your name and address on. In this case the lender has an interest in the car with whoever signed the credit agreement.0 -
Sorry my English so if I get car company to send my details through with me purchased car that's prove it's mine0

You say the car is on finance, is this a loan or some kind of PCP/HP arrangement? If it is the latter then I'm afraid to tell you the owner of the car lies with the finance company.0

Yes you are right the finance company obs owns the car till payment is made but I want to sell car to finish paying of the finance is this still possible the car finance is all in my name0

Ok I thought that would be easy bit it's asking dvla that I pay for car and somehow get away with selling it from under her nose should I inform police on matter that she's driving my car
All very complicating0 -
Ask finance company for a settlement figure for the loan.
See how much you can sell it for on the open market, if it is more that the balance and you are allowed to sell it then;
You need to take the car back, get all the documents, re-register it to your name, pay the VED and take out insurance or keep it off the road and register it as SORN, would make if harder to sell though.
Good luck.0 -
Have you asked her for it back0

Iv sent email to dvla enquiringly how ownership works so will wait but I have the original documents on finance and everything in my name and what our my options on getting my car back in my name I'm not sure how dvla will deal with my request but as you said getting my name on documents could be tricky
I'm no that's sure on the law of the matter though interesting dilemma0 -
Not sure she will hand it back as she just won't I'm not sure if I should inform police of my actions0
