suggestion - take it to your niece's house. get her to set up the phone in her house. connect it to her wifi etc. then bring it back home.
as if the phone is faulty you won't know.
H+ is a very old weak signal and the phone is looking for data to connect.
marshmallow is good.
and the phone looks lovely.
persrevere but get niece to set up first then try again at home xxx
That would be a great idea:T except she's in Australia now for her brother's (my nephew's) wedding and is staying on for a month's holiday afterwards. She didn't go until Tuesday but I hadn't set up the phone before because the free 02 SIM I'd sent for hadn't arrived. I'll have a think if there's anyone a bit nearer I can ask to do it for me. Thanks:A0 -

If all else fails, I know you live out in the c/side but can you get to a C*rphone W*rehouse shop ? Their techie 'geeks' are brilliant. I had not bought through them until this last time, but I did pop in there a couple of times before to ask for help and they were really great. I'm sure you could chat them up to help you get the phone going and then maybe you can get on your own network when you get home. Don't know if that helps but hope you soon get it going
Had to order some cables, connectors and an omelette pan (mine's done a valiant twelve years) through the amazing web-site. Managed to save £13.14 on normal prices and just hope they work okay as it was all a bit of a guess (apart from pan).
Hope you all have a super Sunday

Good morning, all:)
Isn't it amazing how much rosier things look after a good night's sleep? All's much happier in my world today:j. I'm going to forget about that d*** phone today and spend my time and energy on less frustrating things;)
KM and Surfchik (sorry, I've only just had the time to read back on lots of earlier posts:o), it must be very annoying to have had the problems you've had with Prolific. I love that site but have also experienced the gremlins that they seem to have at fairly regular intervals. Nothing as serious as yours though and I hope everything gets sorted out for you asap:beer:. Looks as if your problem was fairly widespread according to posters on another thread.
Lynne and Aesop, sorry to hear about your tech issues and especially sorry that I didn't commiserate sooner as I was so wrapped up in my own problems:o. Technology eh? It's supposed to make life easier and it often does exactly the opposite:mad:. Aesop, my printer has wireless capability but I've never taken advantage of it. Might set it up (if I can;)) but that will be after the phone connection gets sorted as one failed connection issue at a time is as much as I can cope with:eek:.
Have a good day everyone, whether it's battling with tech issues or doing something nicer:beer:0 -
Morning all
Sorry to hear about all the tech problems. I have another to add in that I dropped my iPad on Friday evening and smashed the screen!
It's in for repair already with a local company who are really good so I should get it back tomorrow. Which is just as well as I am having serious withdrawal symptoms!
Been a bit down again (not about the iPad) but woken up today and told myself I need to focus on the positives.
So along with being mostly healthy, having a roof over my head etc I can add that my son got a full time job this week and my dad is well and truly on the mend after his heart surgery.
I have a couple of payouts pending so will add when I get them. Have to spend some time today on our company accounts which I'm not really looking forward to but going to my parents for dinner this evening so that will be nice.

Hi CBC
I've been a bit of a lurker on this thread and all the comments are so useful.
CBC - the problems with your phone - I wanted to ask when you are connecting to your wi-fi and you enter the password are you using the wi-fi one?
In your posts you say you are using the router one, but the wi-fi one will be a different password. They are case sensitive.
Just an observation, may help.0 -
hugs Shariann and great news on Dad and son. xxx
I think this awful weather is making us all feel bleak. well done on looking for positives.0 -

 Hi, photolc21 and thanks so much for your advice:T. There are 2 ref numbers on the back of my router and I was sure it was the correct one I've been using. It's the only one of the 2 that actually says 'Password' above it. Is the router the place where the password I need is likely to be or should I be searching somewhere else please?0 -
Shariann, Sorry to hear about your iPad but at least it's in good hands and you won't be without it too long.
Great news about your Dad, I expect you'll enjoy your meal together a lot more now he's on the mend. Have a lovely time:beer:
It's really good that you're concentrating on the positives. I try to do the same as, like you, I've such a lot to be thankful for:j. Sadly, I fail dismally sometimes (like yesterday with that pesky phone:o) but I do try;)0 -
Hi everyone
I got £23 of Nectar points yesterday in Sainsbury's Swipe and Win promotion. It was a pain putting the shopping through in £10 batches but worth it when the bonus points were awards. Can this count towards my £10 a day ?DFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0
