Today has been a good day.

    Sure. It's with First Direct.

    Thankyou x
  • Sunday became a spend day - weighed myself (at my mum's) for the first time in ages and I am now feeling like a heifer!! So on the way home called at Lidl for salad ready for lunches this week.

Today has been a NSD so that takes me to 15 for the month.

Not sure if tomorrow will be a NSD as need plain flour for pancakes but may just mix plain and self-raising which won't do any harm. Have all other toppings in!!

    Today I am grateful for:
    1. Pre-payment certificates for prescriptions (DH's meds would cost over £80pm if we didn't have this)
    2. Not cooking in the evenings (going very well!!)
    3. A nice warm house (it's got a bit chilly here and maybe wintry tomorrow)
  • Evening all :D
February has been a bit of an up and down month for me. Personally it's been fine, work is good and I'm generally doing ok. Financially I've not been great though. I had wanted to save up but all my spare money went into vet bills and boiler repairs.
Next month I have a big birthday so a couple of nights out are planned but nothing too big. I'm still eating well and not drinking alcohol.
    Today I am grateful for:
My dd making dinner for us while I took ds swimming
My fantastic boss making me feel valued at work
Being able to get into bed before 9pm

Still shattered from the weekend here :( (and am mildly anaemic, which goes some way to explain my near constant fatigue recently - I thought I looked pale last week) NSD - to be added to sig.

    Today I am thankful for:
    * a long soak in a deep, hot bath with my favourite bubbles
    * tasty food
    * an unexpected gift of raspberry gin from my lovely neighbour :)

    Land Ahoy!!!

I think I can see land on the horizon! We'll be home dry in no time at all. It's been great reading your 'Goal Reviews' too. I know I could have just commented, but I feel it is much more powerful when we each acknowledge our own achievements and areas for improvement publicly. It means we are each taking ownership - taking a firm grip of the wheel - and steering our ships towards our goals.

    Today I am grateful for:
    • Pay Day!!!
    • My trip to work each day
    • My physical health (even if my mental health is shot to pieces at times haha :rotfl:)
    Today = NSD number 17

    Goal Review:

    1) Becoming Debt Free. This month I paid £150 off as usual - have upped next month's in line to clear for September as planned. On track!
    2) Exercise/Be healthy. Started well - then my week away totally blew my momentum. I did 4/12 gym/walks - down from 12/12 last month. My diet whilst not really bad, could be a lot better. I'm drawing a line under it - and will start afresh next month. Will do better!
    3) Mindfulness. Again, this tailed off during/after my week away. In turn my mood has suffered as a result of not doing the things I know help me feel well. Will do better!

    4) Mortgage. On track with regular savings!
    5) Overcoming anxiety. Social Fund worked well again and got me out. My week away however (even though with family) really took it's toll and I've been totally drained emotionally, and I felt I overdid it. (I didn't have time to myself for a week). Balance in all things from now on.

That's it for now. See you tomorrow for our final day. I'm looking forward to starting March's challenge with fresh determination. Night All!

NSD number 16. Walked to diabetic review and back, going was terrible, coming back more in the flow. Kept smiling even when it rained on me. Medicine + whatever I am doing is working as everything was fine (apart from blood count, which is only the white blood cells fighting off whatever I had - waiting until next week to decide whether to repeat them.

NSD target reached. Other goals (pause as motherned rushes round trying to finish all the things she started). Mostly a work in progress. Losing weight and exercise are the highest priority atm. They are the things that will possibly help with knackered immune system and very low energy levels.

Still frustrated by 'how little' I am getting done. I was out of the house every day last week (which is good) but most of the days that was all I did. Then gave myself a good talking to, recognised that each of those days involved being up washed and ready by a certain time, walking there and back, packing and repacking the little rucksack with food and water plus whatever I needed and occasionally washing and drying clothes and keep forks in the cutlery drawer. May not sound like much but is far more than I was capable of October - December.

So progress. Walking is good and have the next steps planned out (already on 2 walks and added an extra block). Eating fairly healthily but also using up bits and bobs from the freezer. Brought popcorn and sweets back from film club unopened. Feel that it is the right time to do this and succeed.

Needed to be more sociable and have been to crafts sessions and film club. Mum's situation is a little improved as her partner goes to daycare for 5 days a week now. I have been told that his family know this is the last stage before he goes into full time care. Had a family funeral which meant catching up with my extended family. Knew my (baby) brother was ill but now seen the extent of it - was unsure whether I should be holding onto mum or him. Mum is planning to give him the magic motorbike (mobility scooter) she has acquired but not used, as his beloved camper van is poorly.

Filing (business/ household/ craft items) is not complete but is broken down into small categories (like with like). Some things have crept back onto the bed, but only a few.

Think the bed is the thing I am most pleased with. Actually being able to kneel down on the floor and all the other subtle improvements I have noticed (did a squat for the nurse without holding onto anything - had to use a chair last time I was going to exercise class 3 years ago, before the hip replacement operation) but that is mostly down to the passage of time.

Today I am grateful for a swift appointment and no problems, for not letting the rain dampen my enthusiasm and for knowing where I can make improvements.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

  • It would be awesome over the next few days, for people to post a brief summary of:
    1. Your NSD totals achieved
    2. What your 2017 goal(s) were again - and progress made, or not this month
    3. One thing you would like to improve upon next month
    4. One thing you are really proud of achieving, or something that worked really well this month
    Night for now everyone! x

    Hello!

Resting at home today - went home from work yesterday because I felt ill. Not feeling great today so resting up.

    NSD - I managed 14/15 - I'm happy with that.
2017 Goals - I think I've done well here. Main goal is to save for the wedding and that's going well. I've also paid off my credit card this month which I'm really happy about!
Improve next month - I'd like to hit 15/15 NSD next month
Something I've achieved - grocery budget was £300 and I've not gone over. Happy with that as I went over by £50 last month!
    February Grocery Budget: £190.75/£350.00
    NST no. NSD 4/15
