Afternoon Shipmates
Morning watch went badly. Light bulb in the wardroom blew and my planned NSD was washed overboard. However, they were BOGOF in local Te$co so I now have one for emergency repairs and saved £1.85.
Ever mindful of Captain Abundant's instructions on planning, we had a five mile walk today as will probably not be able to get out tomorrow. Workmen coming to start repairing the wall damaged by the leak in December.
Other than that uniforms have been washed and ironed and vessel has been cleaned apart from the boy's cabin. If he doesn't attend to that soon he'll be clapped in irons and have shore leave revoked.
All our meals are planned till at least Monday (and probably beyond) and all the ingredients are in stock so shouldn't have to buy anything before then. Have managed to keep off the rum ration.
Grateful for:
Long walk
Rain staying off whilst we went
Nice easy dinnersHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Well done on your long walk Toni's friend
Just a quick check in.
Low spend day £5.90 on anniversary treats & £1.50 for two bus rides.
Having a use it up day in the kitchen. Spagetti with carrots, onions, bacon and cheese on the menu.
Lots of walking today, around two hours in total.
Today I am grateful for:
1. Chats with other 'Mums on the run' it's so useful having other parents to discuss school related stuff with, and always useful for finding out stuff on the down lo.
2. Enquiries for my business, even though some of the more outlandish ones send me on a joy ride of its, buts and maybes
3. My washing machine. Certain bedraggled toys will be shortly off for a spin." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Quick check in for me.
Found a cheap electrician so thought I will get all niggly jobs done. (Laughing my head off predictive text just took niggly to be nightly jobs) Oops. Anyway so I headed out to get some electric sockets but came home with a lamp shade and a huge planter. So planted tree I had in my recycling bin and sorted out my bedroom lamp. Sockets expensive so will probably end up spending again tomorrow, can probably buy them through work but check bm as apparently cheap there
Cleaned house properly and filled charity bag up. Will drop it off tomorrow and take some spare pictures to work make office bit brighter.
Got petrol today and had my feet sorted out. Had planned my foot treat as I decided to go every 3 months, forgot to get receipt so will pop in tomorrow as claim half cost back with medical ins.
Grateful for

Reporting in!
Today has been a NSD :j:j so I'm now at 1/15. Ive had a pretty good day at work today - I had a late phone shift and was dreading it but it was okay. Relatively quiet so was a nice change of pace!
I am grateful for the nice day at work today
I am grateful for the fact that Tom made my lunch
I am grateful that the yogurt hasn't gone all funny as it's the main ingredient in tonight dinner!February Grocery Budget: £190.75/£350.00

NSD today (victuals spends are from 31st as I had a voucher to use by that date and didn't want to lose it - but did not need nor use any of the items on that day) - would have been lured by the Subway sirens if I had had my purse on me after leaving volunteering position very late - thankfully I had deliberately left it at home so ate leftovers from the coolstore instead
Swimming lesson for a small greent tonight (essential for this month's trip!) so quick meal of toast, beans and cheese or more leftovers(!) all round. Smoothies and grapes to ward off the scurvy
Didn't make it to Zumba - sciatic nerve in one leg has been niggling all week (lots of standing around in a drafty room at work) and was protesting greatly this morning - leaping around (or attempting to) would not have done it any favoursWill aim for a similar calorific-burning session on crosstrainer over weekend to compensate
Did get £6 in my account for an old mobile (non working) though - so that's money in towards debt repayment- and was gifted a top by my aunt which is perfect for work
Off to check all small greents have washed and ironed uniform ready for the morrow...

Today I am grateful for
* a new (to me) top for free
* DS1 attending after school revision sessions for his AS. (means more running around for me but should hopefully reap rewards in Summer...)
* OH will be home midnight-ish tonight instead of 7pm ish tomorrow night - he is watching a band approx. 30 miles away from home so is wfh tomorrow - meaning less running around for me in the morning! (ooh - must make sure I don't leave the key in the inside lock so he can't get in!)

Evening Shipmates!
Today was DS3's birthday so a meal out and gifts so not a NSD.
I am grateful I have no birthdays left to celebrate until September! I am also grateful I can bake, even with a naff oven I whipped up a massive bakewell tart and chocolate almond cherry buns to eat on the poop deck under the stars tonight. All for pennies. All I have to do is convince someone to crochet me a hammock and I will be well away.
I am really looking forward to not going shopping or spending money this month. I have gone from mental hand wringing about having loads of food in the house and kids eating it all, to having written up a list of 20 meals on a huge whiteboard in the kitchen and being able to let one person a day choose what we are eating.
Also I feel motivated to make everything ship-shape, so tomorrow I am dedicating the day to cleaning and tidying and making the house nice for the weekend. Also a rare occurance.
Well, the sun is well over the yardarm, so pip pip!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

NSD no 2/20 today. Almost stopped for petrol, but I have half a tank still, so can leave it for a few days.
Music lesson today, but it's a budgeted spend, then met my bestie at the cinema (we used her free vouchers).
I popped in quickly when I dropped her home afterwards, as I needed to ring an 0870 number, and she can dial them free (I only have a mobile). I was trying to ring a number on the local cats and dogs website that allows you to donate dvds to music-m@gpie, and they will receive the donation (rather than you getting the money). Instead there was a Japanese answerphone message at the number. So will have to contact the cats & dogs home.
I am grateful for:
1) An enjoyable film with my best friend
2) Steak for tea
3) An enjoyable day off

NSD #2. I have added the amount spent on food and huge bag of toilet rolls at the beginning of the week to my signature.
Have been to local history session then to visit mum. No travel expenses as I walked all the way. Took nearly an hour from the Centre to mum's. Trying not to think about how long it used to take. Positive head on - it's the first time I have managed to get over that dratted bridge (stopped for breath at the top) since the first week in September. Paused for a sit down in the bus station as my previously strapped up foot was nagging.
Had a phone call whilst I was at mum's, one of my aunts has died today. Massive heart attack which is quite a good way to go if your time is up. Only leaves mum, my dad's youngest sister and her husband from that generation and we have already started on mine.
Mum's partner was not at day care today. He has refused to let the carers wash him for the last two days or change his clothes. Yesterday he made a mess and 2 of his sons turned up to help - one put him in the shower, one cleaned the mess and mum dealt with his clothes. Three of his 5 children are meeting his social worker next week to decide if it is time for him to go into a home as the aggressive behaviour is increasing.
Mum was very ill last Friday, the doctor thinks she has pneumonia (not the fatal kind). More tests, medication and x-rays to try to get to the bottom of it.
Today I am grateful that I got to know my aunt better in later life, that I had plenty of time to prepare all my food for the day and that the food in the freezer is okay - someone hadn't put a drawer back in correctly and it was a bit melty this morning. The food was jammed in so sorted the drawers, turned it up to maximum and left instructions to keep it closed all day. Think the food will have kept frozen, everything felt solid. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0
