Oh dear. What am I like!? I have bought a frozen F/R Turkey this year for the first time ever - £27 vs around £70. I thought I would top it up with a turkey crown. Forgot and bought a second (maybe - of course it could have been out there since 2017 - it has been a while since I did a full freezer audit). Anyway, I have three. I have left one out there in the remote freezer and am defrosting the other two (the whole one and one of the crowns).

I also got the butcher to tie me a fillet of beef onto a sirloin for my Boxing Day roast. It is a good size roasting joint for under £50 and will serve 12 (whether it likes it or not!). He was nearly as thrilled as I was to tie this old fashioned roasting joint. When he told me this was his Father's favourite and that nobody asks for this any more, it didn't make me feel old at all. Well not very...

You're not old! That's really sweet about the butcher liking to tie the roast :)

Wow SL! Your feasts over this holiday period are going to be wonderful - and you and your OH will be able to enjoy it properly, from the sound of it - loving the "chill" and "attend service", as well as "go to village bar". Brilliant! Have a wonderful few days.

Thanks KC - you too. I'm about half-way through the list now, a bit more if I knock the pleasurable bits off. DH is vacuuming in the kitchen at the moment and I had to leave (dust irritates my breathing. Just covered everything up!

My word my Family and friends can eat! Next lot today for Roast Beef. Just taking a moment ahead of peeling carrots and prepping green veg
