Yes, retirement 31st August but finishes when School breaks up in July. He has given lots of notice so the Head Teacher has written to acknowledge and thank him for letting them plan properly. When he started there he had a half-term of overlap with his predecessor, which helps the children i think. Also his form are doing GCSE this summer so will be off (some) or entering 6th form so it is a good time to go.

People with mortgages still need diaries! I'm sure the dfw board doesn't mind you staying here2023: the year I get to buy a car1

I hope not. I like it here. I've never felt I quite have the devotion of some of the MFW and haven't really made the distinction. They are all drains on your outgoings, whatever kind of label the debt has.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Just re-reading what you wrote about your December, and hosting the Christmas dinner. How utterly wonderful! Really beautiful.2023: the year I get to buy a car1 -
So glad you are keeping your diary.
Can I please add a massive thank you? I have recently lost 1.5 stone and it's all down to you!! Having read your diary from the beginning I looked up the Blood Sugar Diet and when TH had resized blood sugar levels i have it a go despite my BS levels being normal. I still have lots of weight to lose but you have spurred me on xx1 -

Thank you so much. I have lost just over three stone since I started, and fall back to the regular mediterranean diet to keep it going. I cheat/treat myself, probably too regularly but it is still shifting down and I have never had this with a lifetime of unsuccessful dieting. I have clothes in 6 sizes now (only 2-3 "fit"!). It really works.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Well, end of the week where I make the regular mortgage payment and interest is now under £65 a month again (it was here before the interest rate rise in August - we are on a BoE Base-rate Tracker 0.49% above). This month the £500 payment is a £435.95 over-payment.
I returned from a trip away to my pension forecast today and it is a little better than my spreadsheet predicted. I knew the inflation figures since my relevant year for calculation would be subject to some sort of increase but it was over 3% so it comfortably outpaced the pay increases I have had for the last 3 years. I am off to do some calculations based on taking a bigger TFLS or a smaller TFLS and bigger income (commutation and inverse commutation are the technical terms).Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
