Dinner went well. They came in separate cars because she came straight from work. I do so love doing dinner for visitors who eat well! So satisfying. Pup was paid lots of attention and is still totally knackered this morning! All is well. I can even see blue skies!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Glad dinner went well. I can see blue skies too and am stuck inside catching up on work - it's so frustrating! Although given the state of my garden, I can't really be doing much out there at the moment!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

It's too cold for me at the moment. Even walking pup with gloves on my fingers are going dead. I must (must, must) get in the garden today. No excuses. Even if it is just to cut down stuff and clear up the greenhouse a bit.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

I've just looked again but no bags from the main SM, only a daily and a Village Stores beyond the extremity of my 10km search area. I believe Waitflower YS are really good plus they give their food to local foodbanks and Lidl put theirs in boxes by the till for £1.50 (F&V) or in baskets in one of the fridges for chilled food about to go out of date.
I might have omitted a bag of trimmed fine beans from my haul. Anyway, they and the mangetout will be used this evening and then it will just be the potatoes (in the dark in the larder - these should keep longer as it was just a split bag) left. It will be pancakes this evening before the big weightloss plan swings into action on (Ash) Wednesday.
In money stuff neither of us have got this month's occupational pensions yet (normally his is 1st, mine 4th) so holding on to our pennies and I have totalled my "Save £12k in 2022" declaration with a pleasing £641 this month. I do need to pay for the lamb in March and we need one or two more bee bits if we are to have sufficient spares to be confident going into swarm season 2022. At least there is no Council Tax in March.
I got out in the garden long enough to prune the plum tree and cut down the raspberries. DH too. He walked pup while I made a start, then he returned and put pup in crate and jointed me outside for half an hour, then I cam in and he finished off and did a bit of clearing of the pruned material and last year's beans and courgettes (the nitrogen will have fixed in the soil now). We must keep this going. The veg garden looked so much better and we both felt so much better for a bit of effort (my pecs ache from the thickness of the branch I was trying to cut with lopping shears this morning)Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Aha, it looks as though the rain may have stopped. I was just going to post an update but I think I might postpone it - in the meantime I have reserved a TGTG for this evening and I will need to collect a prescription and some ingredients for Friday's lunch in the Village that I am doing main course for. Chicken tray bake with potatoes and cabbage. I need to use a pumpkin I grew or we will still have them through the summer at this rate. That's the trouble with a 5k pumpkin and there being just two of us!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

I can see the pending transaction of my occupational pension that will go into the bills account tomorrow. I do wish I had realised that retiring on a Monday in the first week of the next month would set my occupational pension payment date to the fourth in perpetuity! I have scheduled some shuffles for later in the month.
My collection trip last night took ages. 20 minutes in the pharmacy (no HRT supplies available) then I had to wait while they made up my TGTG bag last night. I'm sure the lady doing it thought it was a real treat giving me baked goods but 3 out of 4 are in the freezer and the fourth (lemon custard doughnuts) left the premises with DS, along with the surplus lemon cakes I made (I was making one for the intensive care nurses, as a loaf) - just leftovers to stop the pancake lemon juice going to waste. DS was here for the evening happily puppy sitting while we went to bee club. The rest of the bag was three bags of potatoes (1 new, 2x4 baking), 3 bags of clementines and two bags of carrots. I scooted round to get the remaining items I need for the lunch (more chicken thighs, onions and savoy cabbages) plus my bits (yogurt, Stork baking fat and some tasty tomatoes, plus a pack of cooking cheddar (£5/k!)
I am grateful that they made TGTG up for me but I was chatting with the lady on the customer service counter and there is definitely a glitch between the manager putting up the bags and the people preparing them. I ended up buying a lottery lucky dip for last night and Saturday while I was waiting - maybe I should check just checked last night's. Nope. Nada. Nothing. Oh well. First time sI have bought any since the price increased. I did not remember it had to be honest.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
