Ooof - close call with the greenhouse! Glad you both (you and the greenhouse!) came out relatively unscathed:)
I've always found ns&I humans to be quite helpful on the handful of times I've needed to speak to them (I had 2 psb accounts which needed merging and also when changing DD and DS1s' holdings from in my name re them to their own accounts) - but that was in pre- Covid days, of course....I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £206 -
I've logged in to the NS&I account this morning and all my premium bonds are now listed - £17 of really old ones going back to Godparent gifts in the year of my birth through to 1994! then a £50, a £500 and yesterday a £10,000. I figure I am willing to gamble the 0.1% interest in the cash instant savings account for the chance of the odd £25 win! My overwhelming sense is how much more quickly the value of money has reduced over the years. In those times of financial struggle I remember being thrilled to receive a £1 PB for my birthday (or a 10 shilling note in a card)Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £10,020.92 out of £6000 after September
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £2234.63/£3000 or 74.49% of my annual spend so far (not going to be much of a Christmas at this rate as no spare after 9 months!

If he registers online he can go paperless. I can't remember if he can only do that with his holder number (guessing he does not have that) but in the end I phoned up and they were really helpful. He could buy one bond over the phone and ask them to help him register if he does not want the rigmarole with his ex. Then any paperwork they have becomes redundantrtandon27 said:OH just mentioned that he has some bonds, but that the ex (of 16 years) has the paperwork - SIGH

I think I will work in the greenhouse again today. It was plenty warm enough in there with good light (and much tidier than the workshop) but no gardening - I was working on bee preparations - making up the wooden frames the wax foundation fits in to populate the brood boxes (where the Queen resides and lays her eggs) and the supers (the next layer, where the workers store their honey) in the hope that we are called upon to collect a swarm at some point.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £10,020.92 out of £6000 after September

I went online last year and registered for the few I was given at birth 45+ years ago. I didn't need any paperwork(i guess my parents still have it). Just things like my full name, date of birth, possibly my national insurance number, address etc. I found it quick and surprisingly easy. They got back to me promptly and I can now manage them onlineSuffolk_lass said:
