after the Russet apple peelings (from our garden) used to encourage him to get going (what do I know!?)
DH thinks his slightly more dense bread is because he over needs it so the gluten is tighter. He has used my mixer and dough hook - I only ever use this for ten minutes for my bread but apparently he did it for 20. Our group is pursuing a "change one thing at a time" approach. Well the garden has taken over at the moment - so much to keep us busy but just wanted to pop in and say Happy Easter weekend everyone.
We will avoid the shops as much as possible this weekend and use up some of what we have in. Bowl fruit is our main shortfall but we will manage. I have two bramley apples so could do baked apples for this evening.
Money is being spent more slowly and our garden compost bins are nearly empty (with bags to neighbours and barros full on beds in the veg garden and around the borders. We are knackered but that is a good thing, I think. I need to go and call my Mum now so have a fun weekend if you can and stay safeSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Have a lovely Easter SL. We have run out of bowl fruit too but I figure we will be mainly eating chocolate this weekend.
I have set up my sour dough starter .....his name is Fred. I have never made bread before so this is all new to me.Lots of new skills being developed here....I have not only cut my own fringe, I gave DS a haircut using clippers. DS is very particular about his hair and has used the same hairdresser since he was a boy. He normally won't let anyone else touch it. It was very stressful but I am pleased to report he can go out in public without wearing a baseball cap!6
