Thanks for that SL. And good to know about public transport too, although DH isn’t a sailor, so we might have to go the long way round via the tunnel. Maybe we should do that on our way to/from Germany next time.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

The last two days we took advantage of a lull in the weather, got a very capable friend round to help, and heavily pruned the two ancient apple trees and made a start on the third. Several huge (think one-ton builders) bags of cut down twigs and branches too small to use, plus a couple of barrow-loads of logs and a one-ton bag of logs (we will have to empty it to move them!) to go in the lodge to dry.
Today's focus is to shop and distribute all the food for Sunday's big Sunday Lunch - we are feeding between 65 and 70 (the numbers keep shimmying with one or two dropping out late and one or two unwell) and various people have volunteered to help so they are mostly either cooking provided food (from my shop) or donating puddings. There are at least 17 puddings plus a cheeseboard!

Offline for a couple of days as the Safari interface to Forums failed. Took remote tech support to get me going again but always have to endure an hour of them trying to sell me something newSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Finally cleaned the dining room table with a soft beeswax this morning - it smells great! I also cleaned the mirrors in the bathroom so my 5 minutes a day routine was exceeded! I might ask DH to vacuum (it makes me wheezy) and dust in the lounge and dining room - this house won't know what has hit it!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Oh dear. I decided the inside of my summer oven (a combination microwave, fan, convection and grill) needed cleaning and especially the inside of the door. I have disassembled parts of the door and even with DH's help (he took more bits off) we are really struggling to do this. I do hope it is retrievable. We abandoned our efforts at 9pm last night as both getting snippy and tired. The bits that are off are much cleaner, to try and put a positive spin on things!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
