...as I live with my partner at the moment and he will go mad if he finds out.
I'd seriously consider a quick confessional here (particularly if it was long ago)as his moral support will be valuable to you if things get stirred up a bit.0 -
I know I will have to tell him. Its just that I have done so well in paying everything off that something to come from the past will just be awful! We are breaking up anyway
and I'm due to move out at the end of October in to my new flat.

Rog2 - thank you. I will take heed of what you say and not return the call or letter.
Thanks Lolly - it's just that these 'pondlife' seem to specialise in collecting 'alleged debts' that may, no longer, be enforceable. They also don't give a monkey's as to how they try to enforce them, or even to whom.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

I'm getting a bit worried now. I hope they dont start phoning all my neighbours up.0
-
Have they actually written to you yet? If they have ask them to prove the debt with a signed credit agreement. Some kind person will know the letter I mean and post it up but whatever you do don't ring them! You can always open post when you are in the mood for it you know wind yourself up a bit stamp on your toe so you get more mad than sad!
Seriously try not to worry and do speak to your partner if you are splitting up or not but tell him you have no idea what they are asking questions about and think they are trying it on a bit. Last thing you want if you move out is him passing on your new address!0 -
No they haven't written to me yet so I dont even know what they are chasing me for. But I will do what you say with regard to asking them to supply the information. If they can't what happens then?0
-
Then quite simply they cannot chase a debt without proof that there is one if you get my meaning!0

Thank you so much for your advice. I will keep you posted.0

my neighbours ,whom i do not actually get on with, took great pride in informing me someone was looking for me from my past. they had contacted them and asked them to pass their details on. i called the number given to me and found it to be a company called j2 solutions. looked it up on google and was directed to this page with the posts already on here.
i can guarantee i will not ever be contacting this company... sounds like a very feeble 'dog the bounty hunter'. :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
