I have noticed a few old threads with regard to this company but thought I would start a new one.

A neighbour knocked on my door on Friday saying that someone from my past was trying to get hold of me "an old friend" I had lost touch with. I have since found out that it was a company called J2 Solutions asking if I live next door. I have noticed they are a debt company - shall I phone them or not. Why have they not contacted me directly. Any advice gratefully received.

J2 Solutions are a tracing company used by many creditors or "Debt Collection Agencies", and so are normally trying to trace a debtor on behalf of another party. They very very often contact a neighbour because they either don't have a direct number for you, or they expect people they are trying to trace to deny being the person they are after.

Their approach is normally pretty much random, so it may not be you they are trying to trace, but someone with a similar name.

Do you owe any debts where you have lost contact with the original creditor/DCA or failed to inform anyone of a change of address?

Thank you for replying.

I have a few things in my past that I have not paid but recently have been settling with nearly all my debtors.

It is quite worrying that they have contacted my neighbour as I live with my partner at the moment and he will go mad if he finds out. Really worried now. What do you think I should do?

I have a feeling that J2 Solutions is the new name for McKenzie Hall (might be MacKenzie Hall) they are a very dubious outfit that try to get people to pay up old debts that are statute barred (0ver six years old, and unenforceable). They are very pushy and will send threatening letters and such, and besiege their "clients" with phone calls etc to get them to part with their money.

I personally wouldn't touch it with the butt end of a barge pole, but thats just my 2p worth!

It looks like it is MacKenzie Hall as there are a few threads on various forums mentioning the same tactics.

I wont phone them back and see what happens. Hopefully they wont contact any more of my neighbours.

If you owe money to people and you are working things out with your creditors, then carry on doing that. This outfit of chancers are likely to have bought an old debt which may or may not be yours, and now are trying to get you to part with your money to line their pockets.

Please do not panic, people on this website know huge amounts about these debt collection companies, and the law is on your side.

Whatever you do, never ever admit that you owe the debt that they are alleging you do, and sit tight and watch this thread, people much more experienced than I am will come and help you further.

J2 certainly used to share a director or 2 with MH, although I haven't check their details recently.

If you should have any more contact then get back to us ASAP.

In particular, it would be useful to know exactly how long it is since you wrote to or paid any outstanding creditor that you are no-longer in contact with.

Have just checked my Equifax credit report and MacKenzie Hall have searched my address three times on the same day! How desperate are they to find me.

J2 Solutions and Mackenzie Hall share the same pedigree, or lack of it. :mad: :mad:

Be VERY carefull about entering into ANY dialogue with these scum. They are nothing but 'Vultures' who 'Scavenge' a highly lucrative living out of the misfortunes of ordinary people, often 'preying' on the fact that those ordinary people are unaware of the rights that they have.
