No way could I look the bathroom door....hell would break loose!
Shut the bathroom door once and it was a nightmare...scratching at the door, carpet pulled up, loud meowing....it's less stressful letting them in the bathroom! :rotfl:Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

My friend currently has 3 cats. They have all been encouraged to use the scratching post by being given treats when they do so.
The youngest cat has this sussed. She will go and find her slave (even upstairs if necessary), meow to attract attention, then lead the way to the scratching post. Where she leans one paw on the post and waits for her treat.
I have 2 cats. Fortunately neither of them have worked out how to train us to give treats!0 -

One of our previous cats would wander a few doors down and sit on the patio. Behind the patio doors was a very large and loud alsatian that had "issues" with cats, particularly small ginger toms that would sit on his patio when he was inside and the door locked.
My cats used to sit on the neighbours shed with the sole intention of driving their crazy canine even crazier.0 -

Zeb cries so pitifully if I shut the bathroom door, it's pathetic!
Lord knows I want to be a million miles away from him when he does his business!:rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Idiot Cat and Madam Fluffyknickers tend to follow me into the bathroom when I first get up.
Idiot Cat has, on occasion, decided to jump into my pyjama bottoms whilst they are at half mast.
Madam Fluffyknickers tends to jump onto the side of the bath to get to the sink whilst avoiding the Idiot Cat. But her feet are so furry, she has zero grip and frequently slides off into the bath.
Cats are 'banned' from the bedroom at night because they are both idiots when the OH is there. When it's just me because he is still working downstairs/is out, Fluffyknickers crams herself into the five inch gap between the top of the wicker hamper on the top of the wardrobe and the ceiling and is no problem. Idiot Cat curls up on his empty side with this head either on OH's pillow, or squirms under the covers and curls up against me with his chin draped over my arm. OH has come to bed late on many occasions, not switched the light on, and found (by touch) a small, furry, very mobile pillow wriggling underneath his head or trying to push him away. I have slept through it all.
Both turn into Bigger Idiots if it's the weekend and they think he needs to get up - they will clamber over the dressing table, kicking various beauty accoutrements at his head, and then finish by jumping onto the top of the headboard, which completely freaks him out and he springs out of bed in terror of having a lump of fluff and pointy bits landing on his head. Then goes downstairs and feeds them. I generally sleep/doze through the majority of it. I haven't mentioned to him that maybe they've worked out if they do that, he will get up and feed them, whilst I will just pretend it isn't happening.
If they've been shut out of the bedroom overnight and he's had a bit too much of a lie in (IMO), after I've tried delivering a cup of napalm strength coffee to him, I'll pretend to shut the bedroom door again behind me, but silently reopen it and go back downstairs. Within 1 minute, both of them will go up there, start leaping around on the bed, squabble, claw the rug and general annoy the hell out of him until he gives in and gets up. I will be quite happy in the kitchen, standing right by the tub of cat crunchies whilst drinking my coffee and watching the birds through the window, but they'll ignore me in favour of doing my Evil Bidding upstairs.
Idiot Cat sits on the kitchen compost bin to watch OH cooking. This works perfectly unless OH forgets to close the lid before Idiot Cat jumps up onto the non existent lid. Idiot Cat occasionally smells of boiled cabbage and potato peelings as a result.
And just to confirm that I am actually a [strike]Mad Cat Lady[/strike] Genius Cat Whispering Ninja, OH claims that he's been awake late at night listening to the radio on headphones in the dark, when Idiot Cat has snuck past him or hidden underneath the bed, emerged because he think he's not going to notice them and leapt about three foot higher than he needed to, headed towards my chest level, and I've caught him in mid air, shoved him down to knee level, turned over, stuck my right foot out of the side of the duvet, plonked it on Idiot Cat's side, Idiot Cat has remained curled up in the position I dumped him in and I've barely broken rhythm with my snoring.
(I did try and explain that one by saying I had My Best Friend Cat sleep on my chest every night from when I was five until I left home and only woke up when she worked out about ten years later that launching across the bedroom from the top of the wardrobe would get me up at 5am rather than 6am in summer, mainly because she had begun associating the sound of the starlings nesting in the outside wall with my getting up. And those starlings had no concept of the clocks going forward for summer )I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Lol - there's no such thing as a peaceful night here either! I've woken up on occasion because I've been able to sense Zebedee just staring at me. He's usually just waiting for me to lift the covers so he can get under but he takes bloody ages!
I used to sleep with my window open all night - until Millie woke me one night by dropping a dead mouse in my face:eek::eek: I've learnt to ignore her crunching away in the dark - most of the time she devours the entire creature although one time I found what I thought was a small spider . . It wasn't - it was the little snout and whiskers of a mouse:eek::eek:
She's a revolting creature sometimes! :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Idiot Cat ...... leapt about three foot higher than he needed to
Jojo - that is what Macius, Idiot Cat's own brother does. Always jumps that way. Wonder how the rest of the litter are doing...0 -
Had to post this - funny but got me a bit worried after.
Wee puss, left alone playing in hall. Tries to attack a pile of kitchen towel tower (A$da have plenty on special offer) I had bought earlier. Nothing happened so she walks towards living room door to see if she can get in. All of sudden the tower falls and gives the wee puss a fright - she jumps and slams herself against living room door - we looked up and thought someone had come in and thrown something against door.
Went out to check her, she growled, then let us come near for cuddles but was a wee bit touchy when we petted her. She seems ok now - running about and up to mischief - worried that I should of taken her to vet.
So kinda funny but worrying too.0 -

Mine can be in the most standoffish moods but as soon as I go to the loo they decide that now they want to sit on my lap! Really not a good time, mogs.
My two seem to think it's an event every time I go to the toilet...they'll come in and compete for my attention putting on their cutest faces. My girl gets jealous very easily and if she doesn't get exactly the same amount of attention as my boy she'll swipe him. I go to flush the toilet and they both bolt out of the room and go back to whatever they were doing as if I was invisible.
Cats... :think:0
