The Goodlife frozen range is v good, we particularly like the French bean and spinach sausages plus the parsnip and sweet carrot nut burgers, our go to stand by for meat free days.
  • I do love a quorn sausage roll. It's my failsafe comfort food if I'm feeling under the weather with a bit of HP. Morries and Sains usually have them in the chilled section. They are supposed to be cut up into mini rolls but I prefer to use them as three large sausage rolls. Yum.

I'd be gutted if they ever discontinued them!

I know you said you dont like Quorn sausage but the "Best of British" ones are really nice - very different from the original ones

Tivall burgers and hot dog sausages.
Aldi nut burgers, but I add some cheese on top when they are nearly cooked.
Tesco used to do a cream cheese and mushroom croissant, I loved them.
    Quorn fresh bacon.

I have bought it before and it was with the dried couscous. But I looked for some just before Christmas and could not find it, bought some other make think it was granose but it wasn't good.
The sosmix was definitely the best vege sausage meat I have used, shame it's not readily available anymore.

I have also just remembered I like the aldi vege sausages and beans that are in a tin.
  • I'm not veggie (DD has been for 28 years) but I do enjoy a lot of veggie food nevertheless. I too absolutely loved the Tesco mushroom burgers and was distraught when they stopped doing them! Others I have tried just cannot compare. Another thing I keep in the freezer and enjoy are Sainsbury's meatless meat balls. Lovely in a tomato sauce. Not strictly a veggie food but I love Aldi frozen cheese and onion crispbakes too.

    Thanks for all the suggestions.

The Sosmix is tricky to get easily so rather not order a quantity online and perhaps not like it. I've tried the odd health food store ones and chucked them out. I will have a scout around and maybe try a SM one.

Nichelette - thanks for that, I'll put the M&S kievs on my list as I have a big store fairly close. Sound excellent.

Caterina - yes falafel is tasty and versatile, I usually buy a dry box mix (can't remember the brand, they vary aa lot!) and tart it up as required. Never thought of 'dumplings' though, I'll give that a go on a veggie casserole. My favourite easy lunch is in a flatbread/pitta with falafal balls, salad and tahini, with a dash of chilli oil.

JIL- I'll check out the Tivall burgers, not tasted anything from that brand before.

Lindlou - not heard of the Best of British ones before, that's also on my list of things to try.

Travelling - ah, so I'm not quite senile yet, it was Tesco mushroom burgers, pity that as you say. I think it was you on another thread that was interested in Tomate Frito. Well, I bring as many back from Spain when I go, but I've found a decent alternative: Sainsburys Italian Rustica Passata in the Taste the Difference range. Excellent peasanty texture, I just add a little garlic, salt and sugar/honey to taste. Very acceptable I think.

The Goodlife and Cauldron range I've not really tried much so will look at those. The T's cauliflower grills sound interesting as well.

Far too many to thank indivudally but ... thanks. I'll get a few extra freezer standbys for those rushed days.
