Though doesn't it take a month to get the switching incentive?
  • Account opened on Wednesday. Didn't get confirmation that it had been successful until yesterday though. Donor account opened and two DD set up.

Just waiting for the new debit card so I can do the switch. Is it just the standard switch link on the internet banking page or is there a special one?

Tried switching yesterday but got a reply back today saying I have been declined.

Not sure why as they say they use Experian and Callcredit as their credit check references and I have a score of 997 out of 999 on Experian and 622 out of 710 on noddle.

The last time I applied for anything was when I switched to the Halifax about 9 months ago for the switching bonus - just wondered if it has happened to anyone else and wondered if they are starting to reject based on a late surge of applicants (in the same vein as Tesco pulling their deal off the back of being included on the weekly e-mail the other week)

Don't suppose there is much point in querying their decision does anybody know?

It could be something as simple as a typo in your application where, for example, your response is inconsistent with other applications you have made in the past.

    Edit
Are you financially associated with someone with a less than perfect credit record?

Cheers for the reply - Nope no associations with anyone else so it's just me (and also reflects this on my credit reports)

Maybe it was a typo then - 100% sure I didn't add a zero on the end of my salary mind - guestimated somewhat my monthly outgoings after my mortgage but they have changed since I did my last application (loan paid off) so maybe it was something like that - Will knock up a letter and send it off to the address they gave to see if I can find out any more.

    cheers
  • Hi, just been attempting to open the account to get the switching bonus, but am having trouble with the registration for internet banking. I already have an internet banking account with TSB (thanks to a Classic account that I hold), but there doesn't seem to be an option to link the new account to my internet banking id. Is there a way around this that I haven't spotted, or do I simply create a second id (which seems dubious)?

If you are already registered for internet banking then you should see any new account listed when you log in.

    Edit
I thought you could only have one of these accounts as a sole account so it is likely your application for a second account has been rejected.

The problem is that I can't proceed with the application until I input a *new* username and password - which will presumably set up a new internet id. Or will they figure it out and merge it into my current one somehow?

I currently hold one Classic account (of which you can have as many as you like). I don't currently have a Classic Plus as I switched it recently to another bank.

Are you applying whilst logged in?
