Drum Roll Please...
The total PAD for May 2022 was a fantastically AMAZING £6,218.19!!!Well done everyone, we're achieving so much with this thread through dedication and support, and it's so great to see! As my dad always used to say, "every mickle makes a muckle". That's Jamaican speak for "look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves". So just remember, now matter how small the PAD, it will all add up, every single penny...
.
Looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together in June 2022, and I'll pass over the counter upper baton to Little Miss Determined.
Good luck everyone,

Hey, my PAD is £7.33 to Creation please.
I'm a bit stressed as I've had to make the most of a 0% interest money transfer from MBNA as I think I may need to move my son from normal to online school with Kings Interhigh as things have reached crisis point at his current school and he's at the end of Year 10. It's pending approval at the moment, but it'll set me back by £5,000 plus £200 transaction fee. The deal ran out yesterday, so I just had to apply, or be stuck in a position of no available money if/when he gets enrolled.
I'm not 100% sure if he'll go, but I've had to apply for the money transfer, so that I have the funds available in case he does need to enrol for the remainder of this academic year and to start Year 11 in September. It's super stressful, but I'll feel better if it's approved, as although it sets me back significantly, it'll at least mean that I can ensure that he's being taught as I can't mentally cope with trying to teach him and work two jobs, as I'd end up in a mental health crisis as my bipolar isn't being very well managed as it is. Life and these bloody curveballs, it's so depressing at times. But at least the sun's out. xxDebt Free Diary:- The Mental Debt Struggle

@LittleMissDetermined I'm thinking of starting a debt free diary to keep me on track as everything is just up in the air at the moment. And it's quite distressing, but I think this will help me. I can't work out how to start one though, what do I do? I just respond to already established threads so not sure how to do my own.
Also, forgot that I paid £68.42 to Klarna for my car service at Halfords.Debt Free Diary:- The Mental Debt Struggle

Try not to stress too much @Keedie, life gets in the way and it sounds like you’re doing the right thing for your son x
Try this link, it should create your shiny new diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/post/discussion/debt-free-diaries
I would definitely recommend having one, to anyone who is tackling their debts. It keeps me focussed and there are times when I feel like I’m wittering on to myself but I pay no mind and just keep plodding on.LMD xLife gets in the way...PADding is addictive...Saving's better than spending...My savings diary - Now for a healthier, wealthier me2025 1p challenge #41 | Cash envelope challenge #01 | SPC #017Sealed pot 2025 £6573 | EF £1000/£1000 | Sabbatical £3364/£6000 | Travel savings £1508 | Sinking pots £25712 -
Thanks @LittleMissDetermined for the link, I'll create my diary tonight or tomorrow. Life really does get in the way doesn't it? Being a parent is so hard and I've made so many mistakes, but I'm hoping that giving him a fresh start will help. But he's resistant to online learning and he gets depressed when he's home all day, so we'll have to make it interesting somehow. It's just easier said than done...

I wonder if making a designated 'learning at home space' would make any difference to his participation? If there's a space available, let him have some input as to how he wants his 'office' to be? A bit of paint and a few accessories wouldn't cost a lot and could be very beneficial if you can get his buy-in. Just a thought, you never know. Boys may be different but I definitely would have been swayed when I was younger.

I've recently redone his room and he got his room painted, laminate flooring, a double bed with a fancy mattress and a TV for Christmas! But I think the idea of him setting up his 'office' could very well work... I would've loved it when I was younger, he's just not that motivated lol. But I think getting him a whiteboard and diary planner or something for a timetable could also work.Debt Free Diary:- The Mental Debt Struggle
