Thanks @Keedie for your reply. Yes, it makes things more manageable when exact figures are known. I have a superb knack at building up debt and then I detest seeing the huge amounts going out each month on direct debits to pay it all off. I like the payment a day method to reduce amounts bit by bit. Indi x3

@IndiJonesi it's so so easy to rack up debt, and really hard to get out it, but chipping away at it, does psychologically and literally make all the difference.
I've made myself a spreadsheet, that totals up my whole debt and shows it in 0.5% increments and it works out at £88.18 for each increment that I've paid, whether that has been through direct debit or through spare change. It has the overall value of each increment, so that I don't have to keep adding it up manually, I can just look on the other spreadsheet tab to see the total amount repaid and then colour in each square as it happens. I also colour in the free worksheet that I downloaded online, I picked the castle one as it breaks down the debt into quarters and each section is 25% of the debt, made up of 50 little pieces. https://debtfreecharts.com/collections/top-5-charts. I keep the castle bluetacked to the side of my wardrobe, so that I can see it slowly being coloured in.

I've sellotaped 3 together and will keep them under my desk pad in the office.

@LittleMissDetermined they're great freebies aren't they? There's something about seeing colourful progress that makes the journey easier and less bleak. I find myself getting excited to colour in the next block, and I've managed to repay 4.40% since 01/04/2022, so I'm eager to hit 4.50% and colour in the next one lol
