Has anyone else had an email regarding the return of the BT Home Hub ?

I've had an email that said - You need to return your kit, then goes on to say the following - As you don't need your BT equipment anymore, why not send it back to us so we can recycle it.

Thing is, I'd rather keep it, if I cant use it with my new provider, I'll sell it on ebay.

Yes, that is a standard message. Badly worded, but there is no need to return it unless you really want them to recycle it for you.

Possibly it varies from person to person (though I doubt it) but I've only had BT broadband since October (this time round) and they're merely suggesting the return of the equipment for recycling, not actually asking for it.

Same last time round with BT.

I think you'll find you can keep it without any charge.

There are two things about that link - you could insert the name of any company in there (because they're all as bad as one another) and mainly only people with complaints and problems take to the internet.

I'm not denying what you say, but when compared to even talktalk, BT look pretty bad. Working on the basis that a similar percentage of customers will complain, I think it's possible to compare.

I like the comparison tool at thinkbroadband.com. It tells you the numbers of ratings they are based on and show the ratings for overall reliability, customer service and overall satisfaction. So less chance of it just being negative feedback, which is often what you get with sites that look for actual reviews.

Comparison of BT & Talk Talk

Supporting that link is a ridiculous supposition, where you even then go on to contradict yourself!

I'd also disregard that TalkTalk 'survey' as well. As they are both poor sources.

Ofcom put BT at the top of the company complaints list. Now thats a source I trust! :D

As you say, people take to the internet to complain. Unless there is a particular plot against either talktalk or BT on trustpilot, then the percentage of people that feel aggrieved enough to put it in writing will be similar, so I think its realistic to compare the percentage of 1-5 star reviews, be thet positive or negative.
