wow, you guys have been busy...I left this morning at page 12 and its now page 16, I feel like a real lazy bones.
Its been very nice n ot really doing anything though.
I imagine I'll have to play a bit of catch up tomorrow, though.
I might be persuaded to get a few things done this evening when the children go to bed....maybe....

Bordelakland huge hugs for you. poor kitty, hope he/she didn't feel anything.

Well, I have done nothing, except treat myself hehe!

Posted Amazon package (1st rec'd), dropped DS2 at nursery, finally he is starting to settle in, its now wonderful! then I went into town, got a new jacket, some jeans and knix (after pigpen commented that mine were mingin, oh and they ARE lacy, oh er!) then collected DS1 from school, drove over and collected DS2 from my Dad (his nursery is in another village, luckily my mum and dad live there and my Dad collects him as I would be late collecting him)

Went to butcher to get some beef olives (DS1 LOVES THEM) and now home.

Place is pretty tidy, so will wait till the kids are in bed and scrub the living room.

Back from collecting DS2, spoke to his friend's Mam, they've been friends since nursery and we've both said it would be a shame for them to loose touch as they are close. So we've agreed once we're settled I'll pick him up every now and again so he can come over to play. Where we are moving to has a park (I helped fundraise to build it several years ago) then there is a massive one nearby aswell. Much more than is here for the kids, we don't even have a park for about 3 miles. It's nice actually other people inc them saying they will miss us all when we move. Suppose we've been here since DS1 was little and before DS2 was born, over 7 years now. Puts me in 2 minds about moving but then the fear on DS2s face as we get near home and neighbour is outside, I know then why we are moving. No child should have to go through that every day.

Anyway, DS2 has brought even more homework home! So he's got a mountain to get through by tomorrow, said he can have half an hour then get cracking. Might see if I can get some more packing done tonight aswell as the assignment. DS1s diary promising, they had to go and get some harder work for him today :rotfl: they were warned of the level he's at before he started and it's reassuring that they are making the effort to meet that :)

  • Hey everyone,

Well I figured out what was making me feel ill... paint fumes :rotfl: I the stools set up in utility room as I can have back door open for ventialtion although obviously not enough. I don't care how dusty the garage is they are going up there tonight and I can give them the extra coats they need there.

Managed to hoover lounge, hall stairs and landing - will mop once kids are in bed.

Started to clean furniture then noticed that one of my little darlings has scratched the side of coffee table - it was around that point I lost the will... I can probably "fix" it but with the mirror incident last week I just got annoyed. I am just trying really hard to keep on top of the house - extra time consuming jobs I have enough of!

So will get supper on the go and then get on - since I am feeling more human again!

Borderlakland I am really sorry to hear about your cat

Lil_me - Glad you like your new car and well done with making a start on the packing. Probably advice you don't need but when I pack up a box I give it a number and write on which room it has to go on in new place. At the same time I type up a sheet with the number on and the main things that are in that box. We were lucky the last time we moved as some friends moved the big stuff for us and we moved the smaller bits ( we had a month do it in) However the time before we had a company do it for us and towards the end they just shoved any box/furniture in any room  and if you aren't moving the stuff yourself it is an idea to put up a note on each door of the new place stating which room is which.

    Ok less coffee more action...

Well I am back on my usual form, wrote reply then lost it.
I think I need revision lessons

Thanks for the welcome back lil_me. I am impressed you have got your son using WM, mine all did chores form very young as I had a sick baby and a sick husband to look after. I didn't get them to use WM until too late really and they don't think to wash clothes when theyare here. I must have been away a long time, lil_me, as I didn't know you were moving.

We have had a very busy time and if anyone remembers the problems of DS3 having no idea where he was going to be and types of course to look for after he got his AS results. I need to thank all those who gave ideas to us as after a lot of soul searching he is happily settled into a technical course and travels each day to college.

Poohbear59, wasn't a planned thing, started having major problems with new neighbour inc him being abusive and my car being damaged, then found a house we fell in love with. Hopefully get the keys on Monday! Great to hear your son has found something he wants to do, really pleased for all of you as I know it was a bit of a difficult time for you all. 6 year olds liking using the washer can be bad, deliberately getting changed several times a day at first so he could put the machine on. Novelty has worn off a little now.

ChasingButterflies great tip about the lists for boxes, thanks. I have labelled as to what is in but not rooms yet, going to do red upstairs and black for downstairs then room name on. So far I have packed things like paperwork we need to keep, labelled the kids toys into specific types like Transformers, Cars etc but the lists idea will be great for when I am doing the others. We're doing it all ourselves I think, boxes etc in the next few weeks then the big stuff like furniture on the final weekend. Need to ring round more places about van hire tomorrow.

Lil-me all you need is a box marked 'UBER-IMPORTANT'
then put the kettle, tea bags, coffee, sugar, mugs, spoon [STRIKE]vodka[/STRIKE] and milk into it, and thats you SORTED
  • lol sorry I can go on! Any guesses as to what trade my Dad was in?!

tbh last time, when we did it mainly ourselves, it was much less stressful. When you have worked to pay for what you have - you look after it. If you get what I mean...

oooh and a big :j dd2 winter jacket I had washed and dried without realising that there was a sticker on it... the sticker had washed off but all the glue was left behind I was almost sure it was ruined - but found a magic potion to use on it last night and it is as good as new and ready for action :D

btw I am cooking supper - honest!

Kettle etc already sorted, I didn't use my new one so already have that packed, same with things like my new hand blender (other one still being used but will fling when we go) I'm buying new mugs and will get coffee etc to keep over there for when we are doing stuff over the next few weeks. Official moving day will be 21st we think but will be moving stuff between and waiting for engineers for things like phone line, sky etc before then. Will just have to take milk over each time or use powdered.

ChasingButterflies any further inspirations welcome on the Moning Home thread started in this forum, been watching it myself for ideas :D I find doing it ourselves better, used a company once, all sorts went missing and the denied packing it. Also giving me a chance for the big declutter!
