Back in the olden days the meat & fish bones & fish skin would probably have gone on the fire
We don't have food bin collections.

I just burn it now.
I meant to say that I put some of my card in my compost bin in the back garden along with the shredding, especially corrugated card.
Card & paper really help make good compost. Ripping it up is therapeutic too. :rotfl:

Once a fortnightBlack landfill bin fortnightly and all recycling weekly.
We are just two adults. We can go a couple of weeks without putting the recycling out. We compost most general kitchen waste or feed it to the chickens. Anything like meat carcasses gets taken and put in the bin outside the shop at the top of my road which is emptied daily by the councilI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. Ours is once a fortnight, alternating between black and blue bin. Our bin nearly always gets filled up. We're not a family. We are 4 seperate people, with 4 lots of rubbish. I currently have a bin bag in my room that i need to put in the bin but its currently full. Plus at one point one of my housemates had a massive go at me for putting "too much rubbish in the bin" which ashamedly has led to me accumulating bin bags several times
i wish it would go back to weekly collections. I try and recycle what i can but a lot of my rubbish isn't recyclable
