Sounds like Iit's best to take it back and get the same phone from O2.

If you buy a phone from the carphone warehouse it will be unlocked. You can also trade in an old phone, charger and manual and get £10 off. I do not work for CPW, just get cheap nokia phones from them when I need an upgrade!
