When reading the forums I had the impression that it was the 'n' models that could be unlocked not models like the e71?

You will have to contact a pro unlocker, as your phone now is hardlocked. Try a phone shop, I'm sure they will point you in the right direction.

Thanks to all the good info on this site I think I have unclocked my Nokia 3100 - when I used the code it said something like phone unrestriced however when I try to put my 3 SIM into the phone it says SIM rejected? As I had only tried it once I went through the unlock procedure again and it said that the phone was not restriced. So I think that the phone is unlocked, could it be a problem with the 3 SIM - can they lock SIM's so that they only work with a particular handset?

The 3 Sim will only work if it is a 3 phone you are putting it in. If the phone is not 3g, a 3 sim will not work in it, locked or unlocked.

The 6280 is a BB5 model so there are no free codes for it, you will have to either buy the unlock code off 3 or take it to a phone unlocking shop/stall where they will use cables and hardware to unlock it.
