could be either the sim hasnt been activated/or has expiered (sp?) or most likely the phone has been blocked because it has been lost or stolen

I tried an activated sim still no luck. Its my father-in-laws phone so he can ring Orange and find out.

I've tried to use software to check if the IMEI is barred but it is coming up o.k, I dont know how reliable the software is though.

3 can unlock him or anybody who can generate the 3 unlock codes for bb5 phones but they are expensive

For some reason all the free unlock software I have tried seems to exclude the 6111 in its drop-down list.

Please can someone supply me with an unlock code for my 6111:
