Insert a WRONG sim card, one that doesn’t work in your phone. When it says phone restricted, press ‘undo’. It will ask you for a restriction code, and input the code into the box on the screen.

Try another network in the phone, it may be unlocked already. Are you sure it's locked to Vodafone.
