Hi Forum,

I have been reading alot about the Nokia 6300 and it seems that the networks can only unlock these phones.

A friend has bought this phone and it is locked to O2, He has never been on O2 so there isn't a chance of them unlocking it.

Is there no way of unlocking it otherwise?
He has been quoted £20 by a market dealer but i feel this is a little steep as i got a phone unlocked for £10.

no, £20 is cheap for unlocking that phone. the price varies from model to model depending on the equipment needed to unlock it(the cost of).

if the code is random and encrypted, not calculated from a formula how can it be worked out?

of course it is possible to unlock these phone's by box which decrypting the flash file to find the code but that was not the question asked.
