Hello
I am looking for a basic joint bank account.
One with no credit check and no overdraft.
Any recommendations?
Thank you

Virtually all BBAs can be opened as joint. All BBAs have no overdraft or borrowing facilities, that's the point of them. All BBAs might make a credit check but they are almost guaranteed to not reject you unless you're an undischarged bankrupt or have committed fraud.
Seriously, just pick a bank at random, BBAs are all much of a muchness. I quite like the Co-op but their Internet banking is basic and they may not have a branch near you. All depends on your choice, I'm afraid; base it on the colour of their website or how pretty their branch looks if you must.urs sinserly,

I'd pick co-op just for the fact you can use a post office to pay in cash or cheques.0

Thank you for your replies.
Also. I have a poor credit rating. Would this have an impact on my partners credit history if we were to open one? Or that would only happen if things went wrong?
Which im sure they wouldn't as we only want the account to put the money into for rent, bills, food etc.0 -

Once you have a joint account, you will financially linked so both of you could be credit checked when one applies for a new line of credit.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards.
