Declaring £524.55 against a budget of £400.00.
£400 is my aspirational £100 week target so still some way to go as achieved just under £120/week for the first 4 weeks and then nearly £50 splurged in the last 4 days.
I have kept a close track on my spending this month to see where the money goes:
£314.15 Food, pets, toiletries, cleaning etc.
£115.55 Beer and Wine
£31.20 Takeaway
£63.62 Lunches bought out of the house or when I travel for work
I have been trying to follow a diet plan this month and then have not had time to prepare the food so we have eaten poorly and there has been a lot of waste. It also meant that I have not prepared lunch for DH, if I don't make it he doesn't take it.
We are going back to eating healthy family meals rather than following the plan so I am expecting my food costs to drop as well as the money spent on buying lunches in April.
I am OK with the spend on takeaway as this is less than 1 a week but the spending on booze is a whole different matter.
See you all in April's challenge!Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750 -
End of March at last and I have spent £6.43 over budget. Hopping over to the April thread.
See you there!Grocery challenge 2025: £650/1500 annual budget0 -
My first breakdown done ready for the April challenge
235.35 spent on groceries for 2 of us and 6 cats
162.25 spent on presents (this is with shopping alot in the sales aswell. I have so many birthdays in March, a landmark birthday and this also included easter eggs and mothers day. Won't have this spend for the rest of the year and just plan to buy one top up present a month in grocery budget ready for Christmas-the money and time saved doing this was amazing last year)
30.78-food eaten out. I'm at hospital an awful lot . I don't like how much I've spent, and while I think it is difficult to remove completely, if I can slowly reduce it, which I'm going to start in April, I will do
60.00 bus lane fines in a place I was completely lost in, did try to contest that the sign posting was not great and to reverse out of the bus lane would have meant reversing onto a road shared by trams. Won't be doing this again!
Doing this for the first month has been a real eye opener so looking forward to setting budget targets in AprilDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Yay. Big happy dance. Reporting at £126/£250. Ok, I've been away for 2 weeks, but fed DH throughout.
Slowly running down cupboards and the freezer. I think another month should do it - clear out all of the OOD and duplicate stuff. The trick will be not to build it up again.
See you in April.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -
Another happy dance!
Have tracked my expenditure very carefully since 1st Jan and am happy to report that my food expenditure for myself plus ad-hoc guests for the last 13 weeks comes to £100.22. Plus I have enough food in my fridge to last me for another week at least. I spent an additional £6.79 on food and drink out, which was a huge step in the right direction for me given my coffee-shop addiction!
I'm pleased with this result although I can accept that PN will have spent a great deal less!Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
