Do you really need proofs that something can go wrong even if you follow all thegoodman's steps? There are many examples in this thread, including mine. And there are many other threads.
No I don't but I do not assume someone is untruthful and misleading - or that someone is trying to make some thing be true by repeating it 1000 times. You can keep repeating this untruthful and misleading statement. Even if you repeat it 1000 times it will not become true.
To me that is a nasty comment, just because you do not like someone's opinions or thoughts. And to repeat myself, this is a free forum where people can make their opinions and experiences available for others to read and other people can make their own judgements. But you have just tried to wipe away everything that thegoodman wrote with one singe comment/reply.
There might be many examples but just because there are cases of things going wrong is not proof that what thegoodman wrote does not makes common sense.0 -

The appropriate, truthful and not misleading statement would be, say, "I followed the steps above and everything was fine". To make it more trustworthy it would be reasonable to add some information about how many contracts/claims it was fine for.
And I have not said anything about the 'common sense'. The 'steps' do make common sense, but are not sufficient for relaxing and assuming that "everything will be fine" if you follow them.
My original disagreement was only with "everything will be fine" statement and I made it very clear.0 -

You may have disagreed with the wording "everything will be fine" but your response to thegoodman was rude imho. If you felt so strongly about one line, you could have picked up and said "Right that is not always the case".0 -
It's the spirit, not just 'wording' and he keeps saying this at every opportunity and in various threads. Another version of "everything will be fine" is "as easy as that".0

That is life and people - you cannot dictate what people say I think.
I agree with you on the point of that line but no point getting wound up about it.0 -
No doubt I am supposedly "scaremongering" but if it were almost anyone else making the suggestion I would be amazed that I ever "mislead" - as the person spouting that frequently does.
If "scaremongering" ensures you avoid joining the legions who have "followed the rules" as suggested above and then been stuffed by the dealer (and MANY have experienced that with CPW) then it's what we should be doing. Simplistic encouragement based on rather less experience (albeit positive) does no-one any favours whatsover - quite the reverse.0 -
Anyone else think grumbler and oneaday should get a room?0

The grumbler is wrong. Need to understand that nothing is guaranteed, even the BBC watchdog will only take up the story if many % people report them in compare to total customer base.
Nothing is guaranteed in this life including life, health, wealth and everything else we have. Things can and will go wrong at times. When do and if you are right then you follow the system to get them sorted.
I think junkie & grumbler are trying to be some kind of cashback king, we know everything. keep it simple.0 -

Or might learn to speak pigeon... to match you in both thinking and expression.0
